Super Tuesday could give us our nominee

When California moved it's primary to super Tuesday they really added to the super part. California is going to distribute 495 delegates the overwhelming majority of them going to democrats. I'm not saying any candidate will have the nomination in fact but a candidate could come out of super Tuesday with an insurmountable lead. In less than a month it is possible we could know who our candidate will be.

But we have to court these midwest states and not just the coasts.. because apparently land has a vote so to speak. You could call the General Election just an outsized caucus .. if we were just popular vote, we would be trying to re-elect President Clinton.. but that is not our reality

3. Biden snubbed CA Dems by not coming to the convention, and

It's not the first time. The last time Biden ran for president he also skipped CA's convention; the other 7 contenders showed up.

If he loses here he has himself to blame for not making his case to the delegates.

Sanders and Warren by contrast have given barnburner speeches up and down the state. Sanders has been to our city multiple times during his two campaigns.

I'm not sure if the others have been year yet; they certainly haven't here in San Diego.

With 495 delegates, CA can and likely will be a kingmaker, so I don't understand the lack of foresight in candidates who have ignored CA. I would have liked to hear from more of them, and think it's a shame that a tiny, non-diverse state like Iowa gets such a disproportionate share of candidates' attention as well as media focus.

They are heavy on the phony drama, so it’s a good decision to skip it.

8. Interesting. This may be due to open primaries. I know non-Dems asking for Dem ballots

because they want to sway the primary choices here, since it's a given Trump is their nominee.

I've had more than one conservative-leaning but unaffiliated with any party friend tell me they did that. One even asked me where they could get information on all the Dem candidates stances so they could choose one of the more moderate ones.

I don't really understand why Dems allow non-Dems to vote in their primary. Shouldn't only Democrats choose?

Republicans do NOT allow anyone other than Reps to vote in their primary.

I think hippies were involved in this some how. You know...like a voting commune or something...everyone welcome...no labels...bring the dog. Maybe it's because by the time they vote it is usually over. So why be serious. But it is aggravating and it is just a matter of time before it leads to disaster.

The GOP is like the strict parent. Their votes go to college.
