John Mellencamp cuts ad for Bloomberg: He'll 'take the fight directly to Trump'

Michael Bloomberg was the mayor of a metropolis, but the Democratic presidential candidate is aiming to get a "Small Town" boost with John Mellencamp's endorsement.

Mellencamp appears in an ad for the 2020 presidential candidate's campaign released Wednesday.

In the spot, the singer is seen holding his guitar as his 1985 hit, "Small Town," begins to play.

A real man of the people Mike is. He's really down with those small town folk and their values, just like Dotard is. I'm sure when he takes their sugary sodas and deep fryers away from them they'll love him even more.

I was actually curious about what had become of Mellencamp. I'm glad to see that he's avoided the pathetic circuit that so many former music stars trying to resurrect their mummified careers find themselves in by performing at Holiday Inns and roadside lounges, and has instead been adopted by an our-of-touch billionaire sugar daddy. I'm happy for John.

I'll say it again...not voting for plutocrats, oligarchs or any other rich jerks that want to run things. Senators are hard enough to stomach as candidates because in general I consider the Senate to be a club for rich jerks that want to stymie social progress. Y'all better find a candidate that will bring us all out to vote and Bloomberg ain't gonna do it.
