Does Bloomberg have the machine that can beat trump?

is it the case that only a billionaire can beat trump's $300M war chest, control of Facebook, and unlimited earned media?

This is not snark. This is a serious flat-out question. Putting it out there.

It doesn't mean he's the only one who can beat Trump, but even if he doesn't get the nomination he will be putting his money to work to do just that.

17. A Bloomberg nomination would flood states with cash

and it would help up and down the ticket. Bloomberg is the only candidate that can put Trump on the run in Texas, Georgia and even places like South Carolina. Bloomberg would make the GOP run out of cash spending money in states they didn't plan to. Bloomberg has this kinda money in his couch cushion. He would free up the DNC to spend their cash on the Senate and House candidates.

5. Listening to NPR today,
Wed Feb 5, 2020, 07:42 PM

I heard that Bloomberg has already spent close to $300M already -- ads everywhere, a massive organizing team -- everything money can buy.

Here's my question: If money can buy an election for the Democrats, would this be sufficient to convince the public, the political parties and whoever else that maybe, just maybe, american voters, the House and the Senate to set some new rules regarding federal elections? Could it be enough to convince folks that Citizens United should be overturned?

I'm not sure it WOULDN'T be good for the US to have Bloomberg in a faceoff against Trump. Mike could expose Donald for the fake businessman he is, especially if Bloomberg challenged Trump to release his taxes and dug deep into the charlatan's business deals. And he has the money and the wherewithal to do it.

THIS I'd love to see! (Then again, this is simply a view from the North -- The Great White North, that is....)

but so do others. Bloomberg just seems too good to be true at this point. Easy solutions don't fall from the sky. He does not have the decades of experience of some of our candidates, and I do think diplomacy, people management, levers of power other than a mayorship, are very beneficial. I know he dislikes Trump, but does he have the understanding of Trump's personality, weak points, to exploit those openings? Avenatti got under Trump's skin for a few weeks. Ross Perot had the management skills, did he have the people skills? Did John Andersen ever give a non-Hamletian reason why he was running?

But you do pose 3 good points: money, Facebook, and media. Bloomberg checks off 2 of those points. No one knows what Facezuck will do, but somebody needs to clip their wings. Don't see why Bloomberg has any better skills on that than the other candidates.
