My ranking of the candidates by speech making style

Buttigieg (long before I went with his Presidential campaign, I heard him speak in the contest of DNC Chair, And I concluded that he would be the best voice for the Democratic Party)

Warren (energetic and engaging, playing with her wonkiness)

Klobuchar (solid and cheerful, but basic, nothing particularly stands out)

Biden (folksy and comfortable but unfortunately more erratic than when I’ve heard him speak in the past)

Sanders (too rough and grumpy for my taste)

Yang (honestly nothing stands out)

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

2. As far as 'style' I tend to agree. However, I don't think Pete has the requisite experience yet.

Don't get me wrong, I like Pete a lot. He has a lot going for him and I'm sure he has a bright future. However, I really believe he should get some experience on the national level before seeking the Presidency.

Reminds me of Obama who wasn't long on experience either, but is going to go down in history as one of our greatest Presidents. That being said, I think Biden or possibly Bloomberg have the best chance to beat Trump if we haven't thrown him out by the election.

But I also believe that Warren is the smartest person in the room.

I believe that there is a lot of evidence for this. It isn't JMO.

If anything, it's a draw.

He looks and sounds like a prototypical President.

As to your rankings, I'd swap Sanders and Yang. Both are horrid speakers, but monotone and humorless is painful to hear.

5. Biden never fails to move me--and so many in his audiences. Warmth, inspiration, wisdom, and

compassion are words people frequently use to describe qualities Biden conveys when he talks, one on one or to larger audiences. His answer on stuttering was beautiful and could apply to many other cases.

How I would love a president with job-specific qualifications and accomplishments plus the ability to touch our nation emotionally, unite and heal.

Always told my college speech classes that even with flaws, nervousness, and some glitches you can be a powerful speaker, more so than some who are smoother, more poised if you sincerely believe in and focus on what it is you are trying to get across, why you are speaking in the first place, and on the people you are talking to. Not a speech, just talking to.

Biden is one of those who influences with the strength of his authenticity and his sense of mission for our country. He’s a people guy and it shows.

6. Buttigieg can speak in full paragraphs.

That's a fairly unusual gift for a politician (or anyone really). One impressive dude.

Elizabeth Warren's "folksy" style works for me (despite being a native of very un-folksy Los Angeles). She has a gift for connection the larger context with personal stories--from her own life and from those she's met on the trail.

Joe Biden is grossly underrated as a communicator IMO. Sure, he sometimes fights stuttering and when he's exhausted, it can show. But few politicians I've seen have Biden's ability to connect with people. His empathy is real and extraordinary.

Sanders is old style he gives the kind of speech you leave saying yeah
Haven't heard Biden
Yang does give a TED Talk but a good one.
Heard Amy to many times in to many different circumstances to be fair. Some very incredible ones thou.
The Time I heard Pete I was reminded of a good community theater actor, one like any number I ran lights for. But he may have improved as I heard him early.
Warren gets the Award for most improved. I heard he early and have heard her more recently. She is much more comfortable with emotion and it comes through.

Someone will have to call 911.

Seriously, if someone here has an ear in Biden’s campaign, they really need to ask him to get rid of that habit. I love Joe, but lately all I hear is that word.

I think I like Amy’s style the best.

In time, I think Pete will loosen up but at the moment he seems a little bit stiff.
