Iowa Democratic Party is making a "minor correction" to results

https://kwwl.com/2020/02/05/error-iowa-democratic-party-issues-minor-correction-possibly-to-black-hawk-county-results/

(KWWL) -- As caucus results continue to come in, the Iowa Democratic Party is dealing with more issues.

Around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, the party sent out a tweet indicating a "minor correction was needed" but did not elaborate what exactly that error was.

At roughly the same time, Black Hawk County Supervisor Chris Schwartz said delegates for Senator Bernie Sanders were incorrectly given to Deval Patrick.

The Des Moines Register reported results released early Wednesday showed Patrick received 21 state delegates. KWWL has not been able to independently confirm this information.

This is following the claims from Black Hawk County officials that the results for multiple candidates were misreported by party officials. (Corrected this sentence to reflect that multiple candidates had incorrect numbers).

I am not normally a conspiracy theorist, but this is looking a little suspicious to me. Are they undercounting some candidate's delegates? It is clear that this was a county that went for Sanders. I hope that this debacle is cleared up soon. This entire process with the Iowa Caucuses has been embarrassing and disturbing. It is a mess, and it is undercutting the momentum the Party should have right now. Instead of momentum, we have confusion. This is not a good look for the Democratic Party.

I'm not saying it's anything more than that. But they took so much extra time to tabulate and confirm but misreported in this example by quite a lot. We need more transparency on what's happening.

Senator Bluto Blutarsky coined a phrase to describe situations such as what has occured in Iowa this week that has stood the test of time.
