PoliticoAmong those dismissed were the national political and policy directors of the campaign, as well as the deputy national political director all senior-level positions. The people who were fired worked across Yangs organization, from his headquarters in New York to the now-disbanded Iowa operation.
Yang finished sixth in Iowa, receiving just 1 percent of delegates, according to the most recent count.
The future States aren't any more promising...

(25,487 posts)His supporters are "soft" Democrats. Half will simply not vote or vote Republican. The other half will scatter to the other Democratic candidates.

Glad he's cleaning house!

(5,376 posts)Not to sound too premature, but the sense is his campaign might be winding down. Let me comment on how he helped define the debate this primary season...
His advocacy of a guaranteed basic income will have a lasting impact on policy. I expect it will become as important an issue as universal health care.
Thank you for your efforts, Andrew.

(3,145 posts)I don't think any of us thought he would get the nomination, but I think he has brought himself to the attention of whoever does.
And he hasn't thrown shade at other candidates or their supporters to much of a degree, either.

(2,014 posts)Its arrogance to go from a non political background straight to a POTUS run, with zero experience in holding a single actual office and learning the ropes. I actually doubt well see more of him. He doesnt seem like the kind of guy wholl put his pride and impatience away, and run for county commissioner, statehouse Rep, or even a House seat.

(4,979 posts)Have enjoyed the challenging ideas he brought to the debates, even if I cant see how they fit into the fight right now. I agree with him that addressing the effects of automation/tech on how we, as a society, value peoples time will require new thinking and nuance.
If hes poised to leave the race, then I hope hell use his fantastic voice to inform his supporters to recognize how the Democratic Party is full of problem-solvers that can take on the bigger ideas. That will happen more fully than weve seen before, once the cruel and arcane tRump cultists are cleared out of the way to the creating of a better future.

(1,568 posts)I donated to his campaign well before he took off in popularity. Not because I thought he was likely to win, but because I was hoping him being on stage at the debates would make UBI more of a topic. I am still disappointed it was hardly ever mentioned unless Yang himself brought it up.

(10,122 posts)Yang, Gabbard, Bennet, Steyer & Patrick are all on the outside looking in.
Steyer might get some delegates in NV & SC
Patrick should get some in MA
But none of them have the media attention to draw support for March 3rd -- super Tuesday - which means they will be hopelessly behind after about 20 contests with 19 more coming in less than 4 weeks after that when it will be about 2/3rds over.
I think we're down to someone from this group
