Bernie Sanders raised massive $25 million in the month of January

https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/06/politics/bernie-sanders-january-fundraising/index.html

CNN)Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont raised $25 million in January, his campaign said Thursday, a staggering sum that marks his highest monthly total since entering the race a year ago.

The haul surpassed his totals from the first and second quarters of 2019 combined, and nearly matched his third quarter total of $25.3 million. He led the Democratic primary field with $34.5 million in contributions over the final three months of the year.
Sanders' campaign spent $50 million during the final quarter of 2019, exceeding its intake, but still began January with $18.2 million in cash-on-hand. His January fundraising figures underscore the enduring power of his grassroots donor base, which will allow him to compete -- and spend big -- deep into what could be a long and expensive primary contest.

going back to his 2016 campaign.

I'm sure many people have either forgotten they signed up or don't know how to get out of the monthly donation, if they wanted to
Others likely find it a good way to donate easily without needing to be reminded or bothered by calls., etc.

Given the long-term donation sign-ups, Sanders is likely to remain high on the list in fundraising.

expenses and don't monitor their charges closely.

I've never looked at the Sanders' site (nor any other major candidate's site- because I don't want the endless emails and calls that so often originate as a result), so I have no idea if there is a mechanism, easily accessed, that permits one to end monthly donations.

Yes, there are a lot of people who, caught up in the enthusiasm of the moment, sign up for things and go on endlessly.

Second verse, same as the first. If he would simply hire competent staff and engage in outreach rather than pandering, I'd imagine he'd be doing better and the righteous choir of "suRGe!!!" would be more plausible.
