Pretty sure that he also had the clout to get the IDP not to mess with "Shadow Inc" and their untested app.

Furthermore, the Iowa Democratic Party said in a statement that if any candidate requested a recanvass, they would grant such a request, which means they apparently don't give a shit what Perez himself called for.

I'm sure he was in a tough spot. On the one hand, Shadow Inc is funded and run by Democratic party operatives, who probably would have been pissed off if Tom Perez had tried to use his clout to oppose the use of their app. On the other hand, the app was untested, and using it was risky to the process.

16. We live in a bizarre age

where people run for office primarily for the publicity. They often are selling books, lectures, or a brand or auditioning for a television gig. What a great way to get their name and face out there! It really undermines the seriousness of our elections. Too many clowns and unfortunately some of them might win in spite of themselves. One large orange one comes to mind.

is an extension of the whole reality TV era. I am shocked at the people who watch that crap all the time. Some switch over to Fox News now and then, more reality TV essentially.

Personally, I find most reality TV boring and predictable. I just don't understand the popularity.

and reality TV is usually cheaper to produce than dramas and sitcoms. I know people who have gotten hooked on it, but like I said, I find them terribly boring. I do watch Finding Your Roots and Who Do You Think You Are, because of my interest in genealogy, but they are usually informative.
