BREAKING: AP unable to declare winner of Iowa caucuses

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The Associated Press said Thursday that it is unable to declare a winner of Iowa’s Democratic caucuses.

With 97% of precincts reporting from Monday’s caucuses, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg leads Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by three state delegate equivalents out of 2,098 counted. That is a margin of 0.14 percentage points.

However, even as the Iowa Democratic Party’s effort to complete its tabulation of the caucus results continues, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez on Thursday asked the Iowa Democratic Party to conduct a recanvass. That is not a recount, but rather a check of the vote count to ensure the results were added correctly.

Bernie waited until 97% of the votes were tallied.

Surely you can see the difference.

Hope this helps.

That's all that matters to some, even though the first vote is irrelevant to the end result.

Also find it interesting that some of his supporters blasted Buttigieg for claiming that he won when he was ahead in delegates (he still is, in fact) but have no issues with Sanders doing the same with less evidence and using irrelevant data.

Such is the primaries.

It makes our entire party look really bad. It just does.

Oh, I know it will blow over and in a week or two there will be bigger fish to fry, but right now, our party, which is supposed to be the sane party with the sane policies that knows how to get things done...isn't. And we look bad.

Bernie before results are truly known. Until then, my opinion is Bernie won. I believe Perez pulled this act during Hillary's run in 2016. (or am I violating some rule by mentioning this?)
