Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumThe past jumps up and bites Bloomberg in the ass.
A video has resurfaced from 2016 in which Bloomberg refers to a transgender person as "A man in a dress."
Spin it how you will, but this may fuck his "non-campaign" beyond repair.
Add to that, the irony that many consider Buttigieg unelectable because he's gay.
Homophobes don't want to vote for a gay man and some LGBTQs don't want to vote for someone who has spit on them.
And while one of the worst human beings in the world inhabits the White House and is planning on staying there, we Dems just keep keep finding new ways to help him do so.
Trump's voters would elect Hitler in a heartbeat, while we search for "purity." And our "search" could end up with four more years of a piece of pig shit in the Oval Office, dismantling America.
I'm still undecided. But it seems to me that we're doing everything possible to fuck ourselves.

(14,565 posts)It's an unfortunate comment but lots of people would make exactly the same type of unfortunate comment, especially older whites. Michael Bloomberg can get the votes of that type. Our other more pure candidates cannot get those votes.
It is the difference between winning and wondering what went wrong.

(36,294 posts)"NEW YORK Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg unveiled a comprehensive policy to ensure LGBTQ+ equality, including a commitment to equal treatment of all LGBTQ+ Americans in the workplace and their communities, addressing disparities in health care and treatment, protecting LGBTQ+ youth and families, and ending violence against LGBTQ+ people.
I have been honored to stand with the LGBTQ+ community in the fight for equality and justice, from New York, where we won marriage equality in 2011, to states across the country. That fight true to our nations highest ideals has achieved historic progress, but we still have a long way to go, said Mike Bloomberg. As president, I will work to protect every member of the LGBTQ+ community from hatred, violence, and discrimination. We will close disparities in health care access and quality, stop violence against transgender people, and advocate for equal rights across the world. We cannot settle for anything less and I wont."

A google search will turn up links to articles at RW sites attacking Bloomberg on his views on the rights of LGBTQs. Breitbart recently attacked Bloomberg on his support of the Do No Harm Act, his support of the Equality Act and his promise to make hate and bias crimes a top federal priority. I won't provide links to these RW sites but one can easily find them.
