Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumIn a general election, Amy would beat Trump by the most
I know that's not what the polls show... but that's a name recognition thing.
She has the least weaknesses that Trump could attack. Can you name a weak spot where Trump could go after her? I can't.
She would pull in EVERY suburban mom... her closing tonight would bring them in. She would unify every Democrat behind her to beat Trump, and she would bring in the most middle and even disaffected Republicans.
I hope it isn't too late.... If she can finish in top 3 in NH, the money will come in enough to keep her going. She needs momentum, and tonight she might have gotten it.

(27,995 posts)Amy is calm, smart, practical, and experienced. She's won every race in blue and red districts. I think she's the best to candidate to beat Trump.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

Amy has few flaws Trump can capitalize on. The Prosecutor in her would not put up with bullshit, because she has a keen sense of when lies are spewing.

(6,414 posts)I agree that the polls don't show it yet, but after months of campaigning and debates she'd crush him. She's smart, she's funny, and she can throw a punch when she needs to.

(4,528 posts)They dont want to vote for Trump. BUT They are looking for a compromise person -some Democrat
to vote FOR.
They are open to Amy and Joe. And they REALLY like Amy.
We could use their votes and people like them. There are alot.
Imo, our best bets are Klobuchar and Biden.

(6,960 posts)Trump has a problem with empathetic, warm people, but especially women, I think.
Hillary didn't have the quality and was therefore a perfect foil for Trump.
On the other hand, Klobuchar's positiveness, her hopefulness, yet her practical approach is diametrically opposed to just about everything Trump spews.
Klobuchar will not raise to the juvenile bait that Trump casts; I can see her staring him down like a good mother to an errant child. In other words, Klobuchar is an adult and will contrast very favorably with the adolescent Trump.
If Klobuchar does well next Tuesday, I'm probably going to get fully on board.

I hope Amy does well on Tuesday!

(52,134 posts)is. He has gotten worse since he took office, constantly embolden. The Republicans, in 2016, could not decide whom they despised more: he, or Cruz. And now all of them are afraid of him.

(8,178 posts)I want to vote for Amy Tues, but I feel like I should vote for Pete because I'm so annoyed at the nasty Bernie supporters on reddit. I suppose NH isn't that important and i should probably vote with my heart.

(25,487 posts)Bernie losing NH would be a bad blow to him, and that would be good for the "reality caucus" candidates.
But Amy finishing in top 3 would keep her in the race and possibly able to ascend.
My heart says Amy too.... and if I lived in NH, I'd have a hard time with this.... because while Amy is my #1.... Bernie is my #6 and stopping any momentum for Bernie might be more important.
Very tough call. I feel for you.

(8,178 posts)Until the Iowa fiasco and the plethora of conspiracy theories, then sudden love of statistics when they thought Bernie was going to win, then back to the maddening conspiracy stuff that reminds any thinking person of the other side of the aisle. The thing that most irritates me is that I've come to realize that it's Bernie himself that plants these seeds in his followers. I like the words that come out of his mouth, but he's convinced himself that he's the only possible messenger and his flock is his. Ugh. We already have a guy with a messiah complex in the WH. I think Pete will win without my vote and I want Amy to surprise people and stick around for a while.

(12,011 posts)I've noticed most of the polls that show her and Buttigieg doing worse against Trump than the others have them at a lower number than Biden and usually Bernie, but Trump's numbers are about the same. There are more undecideds because people don't know them as well.
That doesn't necessarily mean she's the strongest candidate, but I think she would be a pretty strong candidate if nothing unexpected comes out and they don't find a way to swiftboat her.
