caucusing for hours. That excludes many blue-collar voters and others who have to work, older voters without transport, and so on and so on.
If you recall, Sanders did well in caucuses last cycle but not so well in primaries were people can vote in 15 minutes when they have time throughout the day.

Caucuses are inherently exclusionary and undemocratic because of these factors.

If one purposefully and intently goes looking for them, they are there. I'll give you that.

I can see the argument that the caucus system is unlikely to favor the candidate of choice of poorer and/or less mobile people in the state.

But when I think white privilege I think of racism, and I don't really think lily-white Joe Biden had a bad day in Iowa with Democratic voters ... because of racism.

Seems to me that to assert that would be tantamount to saying our fellow Dems in Iowa set up their voting system to disenfranchise POC's ... which I'd prefer not to suggest, personally.

If so ... I did not know that. That is a rather unfortunate history, one I'd rather forget frankly.

On the positive side ... there's not very many non-whites to disenfranchise in Iowa to begin with, so ... there's that.

I kinda doubt that his showing in a proper primary would've been dramatically different.

12 when I was working the Obama campaign...my daughter and I went to Youngstown...My daughter has anxiety. She really wanted to go...well we were kind of penned in at the front in a factory basically...and my daughter had a panic attack...I was working the venue but when I arrived SS was going to toss her out...I explained the situation and prepared to leave. Well Vice President Biden intervened and had her seated in a VIP section and gave her one of his famous hugs and words of encouragement. This is my older daughter who has done well, finished college and beat the anxiety with sheer determination. She says that Biden's words put her on the path to healing...and made her believe she could beat it...she loves Biden and has supported him this primary. She is a millennial too. I met Biden at that time and was blown away by his kindness and caring nature. I also called when he was still a Senator...forget why...and he answered his phone!!! We had a great conversation. Biden is the real deal. What you see is what you get.

Thank you for sharing it.

I was a stutter until 4th grade. This was evidently due to a language processing issue that we found out that my son had. We were told that he was "delayed" when he was three by the head of the Jewish day school. After testing and therapy my son was Phi Beta Kappa, graduated with honors, editor of a law journal and is now a partner at a big law firm. I told Joe the story of my son and me and got one of his hugs. Joe told me about the kids with stutters he keeps track of. I told him that according to my kids, I have a light stutter when I am too tired and Joe told me that he has issues when he is tired. Again, Joe was amazing and I enjoyed my hug.

The Joe you described is the same Joe that I met in person.

Your daughter must have really enjoyed this. Again, thank you for sharing

for many. The Rogan entry is part of a larger piece called “Here Are the Top Ten Most Racist Things about the Bernie Sanders” ...and is the second blog item.

Warning—some might find the photo of Rogan proudly smiling over
the bear he killed triggering:

Snip———————————————

2 Joe Rogan’s Super Stans
Here’s the deal: Bernie received an endorsement from Joe Rogan, and we soon found out that Mr. Rogan likes to say [retract] an awful lot. This is no big surprise, we found Bernie has used such language is his own writing, yet it was disturbing to hear Rogan’s nonchalant racism, and more upsetting, that he also compares blacks to Planet of the Apes. I’ve been told time and time again that Rogan has Black friends and they have no problem with his “jokes” so I am too Politically Correct. I am also told that my sensibilities are the downfall of the Democratic Party and that rejecting the idea of allowing my own dehumanization into the “Big Tent” I am ensuring an epic loss, and letting the “Real Racists” of the GOP win. Go figure. In the Age of Bernie, Black people are the ones with the problem if we don’t like being equated to sentient simians.
