Biden: "You will never hear me speak ill of another Democratic candidate"

“You will never hear me speak ill of another Democratic candidate, and there’s a really simple reason for that, we have to be in a position, whoever the nominee is, to be able to win."
https://www.thebipartisanpress.com/politics/biden-you-will-never-hear-me-speak-ill-of-another-democrat/

Turns out when the going gets tough, it's just another promise as worthless as 'no Super PACS'.

Buttigieg is light on experience, sure, but there's difference between drawing contrasts and ridiculing the responsibilities of a small city mayor.

On Friday, when asked about Hunter, Pete stood up for decency. Today, the Biden campaign crawled into the muck with an effective ad worthy of the GOP.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

18. How Elizabeth Warren Raised Big Money Before She Denounced Big Money
Sat Feb 8, 2020, 03:09 PM
Feb 2020
Ms. Warren wooed wealthy donors for years, stockpiling money from fund-raisers, and has used $10.4 million from her 2018 Senate race to underwrite her 2020 bid.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/09/us/politics/elizabeth-warren-2020.html

On the highest floor of the tallest building in Boston, Senator Elizabeth Warren was busy collecting big checks from some of the city’s politically connected insiders. It was April 2018 and Ms. Warren, up for re-election, was at a breakfast fund-raiser hosted for her by John M. Connors Jr., one of the old-guard power brokers of Massachusetts.

Soon after, Ms. Warren was in Manhattan doing the same. There would be trips to Hollywood and Silicon Valley, Martha’s Vineyard and Philadelphia — all with fund-raisers on the agenda. She collected campaign funds at the private home of at least one California megadonor, and was hosted by another in Florida. She held finance events until two weeks before her all-but-assured re-election last November.

Then, early this year, Ms. Warren made a bold bet that would delight the left: She announced she was quitting this big-money circuit in the 2020 presidential primary, vowing not to attend private fund-raisers or dial up rich donors anymore. Admirers and activists praised her stand — but few noted the fact that she had built a financial cushion by pocketing big checks the years before.

The open secret of Ms. Warren’s campaign is that her big-money fund-raising through 2018 helped lay the foundation for her anti-big-money run for the presidency. Last winter and spring, she transferred $10.4 million in leftover funds from her 2018 Senate campaign to underwrite her 2020 run, a portion of which was raised from the same donor class she is now running against.

Sat Feb 8, 2020, 03:39 PM
Feb 2020

She took millionaire/billionaire cash before, for Senate runs, and then transferred 10 million USD from her old campaign fund to her 2020 POTUS campaign coffers.

Then she turned around and tried to slag off Pete over big donor money. She is not as blatant as Bernie and especially his surrogate and social media attack dogs who are flat out calling Buttigieg a bought and paid for stooge and far worse, but still it is hypocritical.

Meanwhile, Trump is going to raise over 2 billion USD to 24-7 SMASH whoever we nominate. It is suicidal to not fight fire with fire.

Pete is running for president, NOT for another term as mayor, or mayor of a slightly larger city.

He's running to be the most powerful leader in the world.

And his resume and experience aren't at all close to Biden's.

As I pointed out elsewhere, the Biden ad highlights some of Pete's accomplishments that the South Bend Tribune also highlighted, looking back at Pete's legacy:

It was an honest contrast of their experience. The natural progression from being mayor of a small city would be to run for congress or perhaps governor.

Obama had his political career planned out early. First was local as a community organizer, then on to the state legislature, and from there the U.S. senate. JFK first served in the house for three terms, went on the to senate for one term, and then he ran for president. Even our very young presidents served in numerous ways before they ran for president.

33. Pete Buttigieg decided to shoot for the very top armed with a mixed record as mayor of a small city.
Sat Feb 8, 2020, 04:03 PM
Feb 2020

Joe did not bring up Buttigieg’s multiple failures on behalf of South Bend’s AA community— neglecting their concerns for years; firing the African-American police chief and FD chief; not recruiting AA police officers and not pursuing complaints of racists in top positions in the PD; gentrification efforts that severely burdened AA property owners with code violations.

Further, Buttigieg claimed that to be in compliance with an FBI investigation of the popular police chief, he had to fire him. Not true. Asked about department racists smearing the police chief, he said he could not confirm as he could not listen to illegal taping.

He continued to make major mistakes in an attempt to increase his AA support. Well after announcing his campaign’s main thrust—political and economic transformation; generational change— he committed to an extensive, multi-part plan targeted almost exclusively at AA’s needs and concerns across the nation, a kind of wide-ranging set of reparations aimed at nothing less than righting past inequities and injustice, and paving a level playing ground to move every AA citizen into prosperity, health, educational opportunity, justice system parity—in short, Buttigieg’s Frederick Douglas plan addressed, on a much larger scale, any possible complaint Buttigieg would have heard from South Bend’s AA denizens had he listened, any issues any researcher would find cited anywhere. In other words, this detailed plan, so detailed it could never be discussed much, covered IT ALL.

However, rolling out his plan for endorsement, his campaign devised an opt-out or you are in system which meant we can use your name unless, by practically tomorrow, you say we can’t; falsely inflated the number of AA endorsements when many listed were actually whites, and worst offense of all, as one would-be endorser claimed, did not consult with one member of ANY AA community anywhere.

You bet hard feelings on the part of the AA electorate. Yet Biden did not exploit Buttigieg’s problem gaining trust from potential AA voters.

He simply took what Buttigieg uses as his presidential resume—in addition to his military service as a financial analyst—and examines it against his own, which Buttigieg has had the temerity to try to deflate. Well, duh, Buttigieg is running on it against Biden! So, yeah, let’s compare.

True, there is no comparison. Want to play in the big leagues? Accept big league competition.

credibility at this high a level of competition.

He’s playing that whole “give me the keys to the Tesla cause you old foggies wouldn’t know how to

I am sure Biden knows about the gig economy and also a hell of a lot more than Buttigieg does about what’s going on in world affairs AND the history, geo-politically speaking, of every region globally we need to be crucially concerned about.

Reading books and a stint as a financial analyst in Afghanistan does not make him knowledgable and experienced enough to lead in a troubled world through perilous times. We live on a powder keg.

Hats off to his service. Using it to suggest he is a foreign relations and policy expert on a par with Biden goes too far. His insights into soldiering and personal experience in the Mideast are valuable—as exactly that and not much more.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/1655-gop-cites-bidens-criticism-of-obamas-inexperience

The campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain wasted little time to point out that Barack Obama’s running mate has been critical of the Illinois senator’s inexperience.

Shortly after the Obama camp announced that Sen. Joe Biden (Del.) would take the second spot on the Democratic ticket, McCain spokesman Ben Porritt said that “there has been no harsher critic of Barack Obama's lack of experience than Joe Biden.” Biden also competed for the Democratic nomination but dropped out early in the primary process. However, he was on the campaign trail long enough to provide the McCain camp with enough ammunition.

“Biden has denounced Barack Obama's poor foreign policy judgement and has strongly argued in his own words what Americans are quickly realizing that Barack Obama is not ready to be president,” Porritt stated.
