'Tired of being reduced to a punchline': Buttigieg indirectly addresses Biden ad attacking experienc

Pete Buttigieg indirectly responded to Joe Biden's negative video that painted him as inexperienced.

"I also hear some folks saying, 'What business does a mayor of South Bend, Indiana, have running for president?'" the 2020 Democrat said at a town hall in Lebanon, New Hampshire, on Saturday, according to an email.

"To which I say, that is very much the point," he continued. "There are so many communities, rural areas, small towns, industrial cities, and even pockets of our biggest cities who have felt completely left behind by the ways of Washington and who are tired of being reduced to a punchline by Washington politicians."

Earlier on Saturday, Biden's campaign released a digital ad that contrasted the former vice president's resume with that of the 38-year-old former mayor.

This is how you campaign. Not in a sty with the pigs.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

VP Biden and Mayor Pete. Election year, things will get ugly. I'm rooting for Mayor Pete to win NH! If he does, it will be more than attacks and not just from one person.

As someone who lives in the South Bend media market, I'm shaking my head at how the ad minimized Mayor Pete's record. A pet law as the counterpoint to the Iran nuclear deal? The man is a war veteran.

I get it that his experience is an issue to some, but this ad was too harsh for my taste. The lights on the bridge are hokey, but the ad misses the point that the river is a focal point of our community. It provides recreation, tourism dollars, a fishery...and it flows up through Michigan into the Great Lakes basin. It's not about the lights; it's about a community that celebrates it's most visible environmental resource. Minimize us rust belt simpletons at your own peril.

primary today, I would vote for:
