Seeing reports on Twitter of bad behavior by Bernie supporters at the McIntyre-Shaheen dinner

I was searching Twitter for

biden shaheen

because I'd missed watching the dinner but had seen George II's OP about the standing ovation Biden got at the end of his speech.

One of the first posts I saw was about supporters of another candidate laughing at Biden when he stuttered

I'm at the McIntyre/Shaheen dinner in NH. #Biden stuttered while telling a beautiful story about a NH voter he met. So many people from the another candidate's section of fans laughed at him that it was audible to everyone else. I'm not a Biden supporter, but in that moment I was

Here's C-SPAN video of the dinner:

https://www.c-span.org/video/?467982-1/hampshire-democratic-party-holds-mcintyre-shaheen-dinner&live

The part where Biden stutters and you can hear people laughing at his stutter starts at 1:58:30.

I thought there was a pretty good chance this would have been Bernie's supporters, and I quickly ran across confirmation of that, as part of a tweet in a thread about Bernie's supporters at the dinner also booing Pete Buttigieg and chanting against him:

This is the tweet starting that thread:

I HAVE A REPORT:
Bernie supporters were chanting DURING Pete's speech things like "Wall Street Pete". We overpowered them with "Boot Edge Edge". THE CHANTS WERE LED BY BERNIE ORGANIZERS. So now we know their behavior is sanctioned by the campaign.

She has a couple more posts replying there that mention what she saw and heard.

I'd found her post via a message that referred to the laughter at Biden's stutter and said it was from Bernie supporters:

Heard both, & the sound & view is w/Bernie in the background-speaking of which, Bernie group laughed when he stuttered & said a man instead of women. I'm no Biden fan, but they are pretty terrible.

More tweets about the booing of Mayor Pete. The second one gives the time you'll hear it on the C-SPAN video I linked to above:

Wow the @BernieSanders
crowd is booing @PeteButtigieg
at the New Hampshire State Democratic Party Dinner.

It’s coordinated and loud.

The time stamp is 1:38:35, they chant "Wall Street Pete! Wall Street Pete!"

So are the people who did it.

But not surprising. Not even a little bit.

Next we will hear from those same infantile, jeering supporters of the same candidate telling us to stop criticizing them because the criticism is all just persecution of their candidate.

Again, disgusting. So are the people who dismiss it.

I am now of the opinion after reading this that it is anyone but Sanders for the nomination. Of course, I will vote for the Democratic nominee no matter who...this would include Sanders...although for the first time in my living memory I would be voting for our nominee reluctantly.

127. Yelling at a lawyer is a waste of time
Sun Feb 9, 2020, 11:37 AM
Feb 2020

I live in the world where policy and arguments matter. Yelling at someone is not an effective means to change their mind. I was amused that the vetted sanders delegates thought that yelling at people would do any good in the real world. I was actually amused by the sanders delegate standing outside the Jewish Democratic Caucus meeting yelling that we were all bad Jews. A couple of delegates were pissed but no one was going to change their vote.

I am pissed that these stunts distracted from and hurt the Clinton campaign. A national convention is support to be a positive event that helps launch the general election campaign. There were a ton of hurt feelings.

If sanders becomes the nominee, I know that these incidents will be used by Russia and trump to depress the African American vote. There was real anger at the convention at the booing of Lewis and Cummings that Russia can use to suppress the vote. Russia was successful to some degree in the last cycle in depressing the vote and now Russia has some real anger and incidents to use.

Many are not Democrats. Some are followers of Bernie- more than his policies. Out of all our candidates his supporters have the tendency to be the most belligerent. Just look at who Bernie has talking to media. Turner, Weaver- both obnoxious to the core. I'll support Bernie if he is the nominee. If he is- it is my opinion, we lose soundly. If these reports on Twitter are true. I'm going full on Bloomberg if it comes to that.

Another breathtakingly brilliant rebuttal!

The OP really got under your skin... and understandably so. All that frantic dismissal about the "F**k Warren! etc" call and response at that Iowa bar being a "one off" thing with a few drunk people just circled the bowl with this news of more of this kind of coordinated public behavior being reported in NH.

The rush to derail the OP with whataboutism and more dismissal by some in this thread is very telling.

And....When one has nothing else, one always has "we're done here!"

I await your reply.

I find it interesting that the people who are clutching their pearls at any fact checking or analysis of Sanders in the free press that doesn't flatter him as an "attack", and talking about how DIVISIVE it is to even share such news articles, are trying to dismiss attacks on other candidates by his supporters as just "a few drunks" and "EVERYONE ELSE'S SUPPORTERS ARE WORSE!"

In addition, he's a BOB who color codes the bizarre world he inhabits into three categories: leftist progressives, "Loyalist Democrats", and everyone else.

Everyone is divided into three mutually exclusive groups in this weirdo's bizarre world of color-coded doctored screenshots.

That's textbook divisiveness.

The contention that this weirdo "might be a Democrat" belies all the evidence.

116. This conduct is the same type of conduct that I saw at the National Convention
Sun Feb 9, 2020, 11:26 AM
Feb 2020

Normally going to a national convention is a once in a life time experience. I have worked really hard inside the party on campaigns and voter protection issues for a very long time to earn this trip. Too bad that sanders and his vetted delegates ruined that experience and did their best to help trump. A candidate has absolute approval rights over their pledged delegates because these delegates can change their votes and these delegates represent the candidate and campaign. I helped vet Clinton delegates and I know that I was vetted. The Clinton campaign told us that we represent her and that our actions would reflect on her and her campaign.

In contrast, sanders sent one very weak text the Sunday night before the convention and then did little or nothing to control his delegates. It was nasty I was there when the sanders delegates booed Congressman John Lewis. I was warned about this stunt 30 minutes before it happened by the Clinton campaign whip. According to my whip, sanders was asked to stop this event and declined. That incident will be used against sanders by Russia to suppress the African American vote just as was done in 2016

Russia will just run material showing sanders delegates booing John Lewis, Elijah Cummings and others to suppress the vote of African American voters and I feel that this tactic would be very effective

I was at the Texas delegation breakfast when a group of sanders delegates marched in and demanded that we condemn Clinton and change our votes to sanders.

sanders spoke to the Texas delegation the next morning and his speech was again solely about himself. There was a mini-riot due to his delegates the prior morning and the only thing that sanders talked about was himself. sanders did nothing to deal with the fact that his delegates were out of control and did nothing to try to help Hillary Clinton win the general election.

Finally a group of sanders delegates yelled at my daughter and called her the c-Word because she would not try to get me to change my vote. Again sanders was asked to tell his delegates to behave during the convention and sanders refused

The conduct describe in the OP does not surprise me
