Andrew Yang is incredibly witty and engaging...

Talking about business teens and the challenges of automation.

Where I think he fails his not having policies (besides UBI) that directly relate to voters.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It may take 20 years or more, but the UBI is a good idea. It may seem fringe today, but universal gay marriage was a "fringe" proposal 20 years ago. Now it's the law of the land. I am thankful that Yang has introduced the UBI to the Democratic Party and the American people.

The retail apocalypse is ongoing, as is the exponential growth of automation.

But I know my party and my country. We've been fighting for universal healthcare since the 1970s. Only now is universal healthcare a mainstream position in the Democratic Party. Change often comes very, very slowly.

A lot of people believe that racism was the only reason people voted for Trump, but Obama's voters moved to Trump, and it wasn't because of racism. It was economic insecurity.

They've already floated bills for basic come but it's for kids only, which won't do much. If they catch on and get credit for actual, *universal* basic income, all the demographic shifts we've been expecting will move people to the D side are out the window.

But I wouldn't worry too much. If the Republicans ever passed the UBI, I would have to consider switching parties. I just don't see that happening.

I am very glad that Yang is making the UBI a topic worthy of considering this election cycle. These kinds of things have to seep into the collective consciousness before they can become law, and Yang is doing a great job of it. I want my freedom dividend now. My children and I need it, in fact, and while I don't expect to get it any time soon, it gives me hope for the future that Yang is forcefully and intelligently advancing it now.
