I understand what they're saying when people say Republicans were always thus and Trump just gave them permission. I get it, and to a large extent I can agree. But to broadbrush in such a way as to leave no room for those who moved from old ideals, beliefs, positions, because they grew, they had an epiphany, they saw what was wrong and wanted to right it (the list is endless), on that I can't agree.

It matters not to me either was once a Republican because of WHEN they were Republican, it matters to me where they are right now. I'd vote for either of them in a heartbeat were they the candidate.

NB: I myself highly doubt there can be any easy redemption for MAGA, the party of Trump. That divide seems so deep and so wide that it will take generations* for this country to even begin to walk back from such extreme polarity.

*The wild card is there is a way to overcome the divide in a hurry (according to social psychology), and that's if we were faced with an outside threat that was greater than any polarity. What's worse? Living with the polarity or facing an existential outside threat of that magnitude? I wonder.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

When Warren became "political," she became a Democrat. Since then, she has been among the most committed and dedicated Democrats EVER.

Or is this another example of the bias that you claim NOT to have?

Just wondering ....

I'm sorry to insist on this because I usually like your posts.
