2020 is Biden's 3rd run for the presidential nomination

Biden ran in 1988 and 2008, and is again running in 2020.

At 73, I'm old enough to remember Harold Stassen, a former governor of Minnesota.
Stassen ran nine times for the GOP presidential nomination.
(1944, 1948, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1980, 1984, 1988, and 1992)

Has anyone else run 3 or more times for a presidential nomination (excluding FDR, who won 4 times)?

Not Presidential, but failure on a grander scale nonetheless.

And Nadar ran 5 times and lost. No one told him to quit after 3.
