Chris Matthews' Wild Rant Connects a Bernie Sanders Win With Public Executions

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews’ fear of socialism sparked an unbelievable post-debate rant about a possible Bernie Sanders presidency where he suggested the candidate might have cheered socialist-led executions in Central Park during the Cold War.

Matthews began by praising Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s Friday debate performance but then veered off by warning viewers and a live studio audience about his personal views on socialism. The host suggested that Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders might have supported the violence of past socialist leaders.

Matthews said he’d keep his opinions on socialism to himself, but quickly reversed himself.

“I have my own views of the word ‘socialist’ and I’d be glad to share them with you in private. They go back to the early 1950s. I have an attitude about them. I remember the Cold War,” he said.

Really now Tweety. I have concerns about Bernie Sanders mostly because I don't think he'd be able to deliver on much of the wonderful things he's promising. Public executions however are the least of my worries when it comes to Sanders.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

But he does reflect some of the fears of "socialism" that some people who remember the Cold War still have. I don't think Bernie would create gulags or collective farms; I think he'd be the same rigid ideologue he shows himself to be and would therefore be an ineffective president. But when you talk about socialism there are still people who think of the old USSR.

Matthew's programs remind me on a daily basis of Captain Clarence Oveur's spasmodic moments on Airplane only Chris doesn't need food poisoning for the same effect.

Clearly, if someone was to kill you, the way to do it is to give you healthcare less debt. Thats why Canada remains a war-torn wasteland, devoid of life. I mean Canada is that, right? And Germany? And Sweden and France and ....

Yeah,..

this purge might take a while.
