Joe Biden Is Running Out Of Gas

The Daily Beast

The former VP has lost the plot, voters say. And they’re wondering if he will ever get it back.

By Sam Stein

Updated Feb. 09, 2020 7:29AM ET / Published Feb. 08, 2020 10:13PM ET

Forty-five minutes after Joe Biden’s first campaign event was supposed to start on Saturday, his crowd had grown restless. The former vice president wasn’t at the Rex Theatre in downtown Manchester and those crammed inside were wondering just how much longer they’d have to suck in the heated air before they get to see him speak.

In the rafters, a chant broke out.

“We Want Joe!” the voices said, overpowering the soundtrack of classic rock and commercial motown that had been playing on blast to keep the crowd from completely dozing off.
But no one picked it up. Instead, after two renditions, the men simply stopped. And those who’d bothered to consider joining in the chorus did what they’d been doing since it became clear that the event would not start on time: they dumped their faces back into their cellphones.

Certainly Bill Clinton was notoriously late.

And Klobuchar was about an hour late - just in time for the snow to start falling hard..

Not only does it fill a void in writing with a lot of speculation, but it then takes to insulting, not only Biden, but the crowd who was there to see him.
We ALL, know we wait a long time for candidates to appear at events.
This is a total smear against Biden, and seems to suggest his supporters are tired and old.

For more than 30 years I have worked around the clock organizing and activating voters in South Carolina with my renowned “Reckoning Crew.”

We have hit the ground for local races, presidential races and everything in between — knocking on doors in rural communities and making phone calls into urban neighborhoods. We have had big wins and suffered some tough losses, but we are lucky to speak with so many voters in our communities.

It is safe to say that I know what South Carolina voters are looking for in 2020.....

Sanders’ divisive and baseless attacks won’t get him anywhere in the Palmetto State. And Sanders is proving to us —once again — that he just does not know or understand South Carolina voters.
By contrast former Vice President Joe Biden knows us like the back of his hand. And we know him.

Joe has more relationships in our communities than anyone else in this race.
He has more history with our communities than anyone else in this race.
And Joe is more comfortable in our communities than anyone else in this race.

Another premise lacking data to support it, but.. it gives us the chance to throw it at the wall and hope it sticks as it quickly falls to the floor.

Like last time. And the time before that. And the time before that...

primary today, I would vote for:
