Among all registered voters, Democratic candidates lead President Trump in general election matchups by between 4 and 9 percentage points, with Bloomberg claiming the biggest numerical lead against Trump:
Bloomberg tops Trump 51 - 42 percent;
Sanders defeats Trump 51 - 43 percent;
Biden beats Trump 50 - 43 percent;

But I loved her answer to the question about whether she'd be sad if someone else took and implemented her ideas, and she said, essentially, "Heck, no--I'd lead the parade!" She's all about doing the right thing, not about being President.

So if Bloomberg has the best chance to beat Trump, I will absolutely take that win! Can you imagine how Trump would feel, getting shellacked in November by a real billionaire? Oh frabjous day!

I'm not a huge fan of Bloomberg on policy, but he would get us closer to Warren's platform than re-electing Trump.

As would have Hillary if elected in 2016.

I actually have no idea whether he would or not. I think he might, because he's smart enough to listen to smart people, but I don't know.

I just meant that, even as someone who loves Elizabeth Warren bestest, I'd be happy if he won and it sounds like she would be too, because her most important policy position is that Trump must be removed.

But I've changed my mind. It was presumptuous, sure, but whatever it takes is fine with me. I think he could bring over a lot of Republicans who don't care about abortion and guns but care a lot about money.

And even as a Democrat I have no problem with him or Tom Steyer or any billionaire who was smart enough to succeed like that--as long as they did it honestly and on their own merits, unlike certain orange people we know--and especially if they're using their money to beat Trump. Besides, this is no time for purity tests--the country we grew up with is literally over if Trump gets re-elected. We can get picky next time, but only if there's a next time.

Sorry for the essay ... basically, I'm thinking that your neighbors are not alone.

Pretty sure he'd happily vote 'D' for the first time in his life if it was Bloomberg vs Trump.

There's a good chance he's going to vote Democratic this time anyway -- he's definitely not voting for Trump -- but that would clinch it.

His advantage? He's got more money than God and can keep this up at every turn until Trump's head explodes. I'm still for Joey B. but I'd vote for Bloomberg in a New York second if he's our eventual nominee.

Important, too. Bloomberg would need to speak to these accusations directly. One of the reasons he needs to be on that debate stage.

Hadn't read this before. Thanks for the heads-up.
