I think I will keep my counsel to myself on what these numbers mean. I'll let you draw your own inferences.

(2,706 posts)To belong to Biden went mostly to Bloomberg.
Thats a rejection of Sanders. He came from nowhere to Almost tying Biden.
Sanders already had around 15% or so. He didnt gain that much.

(5,376 posts)The majority of the base of the party seems split between 3 candidates in that poll.
No one has over 50%, no one has been "rejected", voters are just divided about whom they support.
Hard to look at that in any other light, right?
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(22,912 posts)One could also imply that the majority of the base of the party would rather have an old white man than a woman or someone from the Midwest.
In any regard these numbers are due to shuffle again after the NH results but, from this, it no longer looks like any single candidate has a solid lock on the African American vote

(2,706 posts)Now he has only a quarter. And Bloomberg got most of it.
Id say the implications are pretty clear.

(16,616 posts)beating Trump has superseded any other concern, any other policy concern, period.
What's happening now is hard for me to understand or synthesize. I don't know how else to interpret this.

(199 posts)Wait till Styer blasts him with his million dollar tv ad buys. Bloomberg's numbers will drop like a rock and we will be back to square one.
Styer said on Chuck Todd today he was one of the progressive candidates and he thinks Sanders would be a great President if it's not him in so many words. So i think Styer is there to offset Bloomberg's ad buys.

(36,298 posts)Or anyone else trying to argue that a Bloomberg presidency would be just as harmful to POC as the Trump presidency is?
I think you'll agree that Bloomberg as president would be many times better for everyone then having Trump re-elected.

(90,336 posts)... iota of truth to it makes Trump look like an idiot.
When it comes to Bloomberg and race I don't see that happening relative to Bloombergs extensive past of saying the nastiest shit about non-whites and crime.
Not just a couple of ignorant statements IE Bloombergs " no one told me " bullshit just sounds like the most cynical crap.
Also, what has his progressives and liberal record been in NY when it comes to CJR ?!
He couldn't win in NY as a democrat so he ran as a republican !?
We'll see, I don't see why Bloomberg is in the race

I don't see a changed mind or heart on that issue with Bloomberg.

(15,286 posts)He was talking about what he was hearing in the AfAm community in his travels to MLK day and Black History month events. He said the AfAm community is absolutely terrified that Trump could win again and they are 100% focused on who can beat Trump. He said he heard a lot of unprompted talk about Bloomberg among the people he's encountered on his recent travels. He said AfAms are willing to overlook "stop and frisk" and support him if they believe he can beat Trump. Given this assessment, it shouldn't be that surprising that so much AfAm support has shifted to Bloomberg given Biden's showing in Iowa and perhaps also in NH.

(32,017 posts)I also note that African American democrats are more amenable to gun control than other democrats. This plays to Bloomberg's hand.
