(5,557 posts)This was only a few years ago. Bloomberg is not who he presents himself to be in his campaign ads.
I know we like his money, but it is tainted.
No Bloomberg

(7,681 posts)Michael Bloomberg representatives have asked the Aspen Institute not to distribute footage of his recent appearance in Aspen, where the three-term New York City mayor made pointed comments concerning minorities and gun control.
Both the Institute and GrassRoots TV, the organization that filmed the event, confirmed Thursday that they will not broadcast the footage online or on television as planned.
We basically honor the wishes of our speakers, and Mayor Bloomberg preferred that we not use the video for broadcast, the Institutes chief external affairs officer Jim Spiegelman wrote in an email Friday. He did not give a reason nor did we have any reason to ask for one. We often feature speakers who prefer that their presentations not be videotaped.
Appearing before nearly 400 people in Aspen on Feb. 5, the billionaire founder of Bloomberg L.P. argued that in order to save lives, police should seize guns from male minorities between ages 15 and 25.
These kids think theyre going to get killed anyway because all their friends are getting killed, Bloomberg said during the speech. So they just dont have any longterm focus or anything. Its a joke to have a gun. Its a joke to pull a trigger.
National media outlets latched onto that portion of the discussion, in which Bloomberg said one method to deal with the issue is to throw them up against the wall and frisk them, referring to the controversial stop-and-frisk tactics New York City implemented during Bloombergs tenure.
Neither Bloomberg nor his representatives could be reached for comment.

(8,678 posts)Most Democrats are scared shitless, myself included, that Trump could win again. We have to nominate our strongest candidate. It would appear Bloomberg matches up best against Trump and he takes away the money advantage Trump and the GOP have. That is a huge benefit Bloomberg brings.

From the article
The audio was posted to Twitter by writer and author Benjamin Dixon on Monday. Dixon said earlier this year that he believes Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is the best option in the Democratic presidential field. While promoting the clip, and several other critical articles and videos of Bloomberg, Dixon has repeatedly tweeted "#BloombergIsaRacist." He also did a podcast episode attacking what he called Bloomberg's "racist, classist past."

(22,912 posts)If a Biden supporter somehow got hold of one of those alleged "The Apprentice" tapes where Trump uses the "N word" would that make it all just "political" and irrelevant because the leaker was opposed to Trump?
Didn't we just go through this with irrelevant attacks on the "whistle blower"?

I personally feel like our Democratic Party is being hijacked by outsiders as I don't view either Sanders or Bloomberg as Democrats.
Sanders is an avowed Independant...go run in the independent primary, please. Bloomberg seems to be a wolf in sheep's clothing to me. I feel like he's switched sides to run for President. I will never support him.
I believe we need to beat Trump, but I wish we could do it with someone who was a real Democrat.

But this, they not only ignore, but then when it comes out, they start pointing fingers and trying to create more divisiveness?

(69 posts)From a primary perspective, if he had run from the start as an Independent we'd be talking a lot more about Biden, Warren, actual Democrats.... and Bernie would be dead in the water.
I think one could argue that he's taking the vote away from more electable candidates by running as a Democrat.
