Bloomberg was worth $54.1B in November. Now it's $61.5B

Is he making money off of running for President or is $7B a normal return on investment after a few months? Honestly, I’m asking. I don’t know. That amount of money is out of my level of expertise.

https://www.forbes.com/profile/michael-bloomberg/?list=billionaires#40e5e7914178

A few other questions.

He supported stop and frisk, even defending it after he left office. He finally backtracked in November and apologized. What changed?

Source: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/17/us/politics/michael-bloomberg-speech.html

Michael Bloomberg said; “Ive never supported raising the minimum wage”. In December, he backtracked and now supports a $15 minimum wage. What changed?

He is buying up all the ad time he can and churning out commercial after commercial that paints him in the perfect light. He hasn’t debated with any of the other candidates. Has he even held a town hall or rally or anything where people can submit questions to him?

He literally is buying this election. He is even paying Instagram influencers to say nice things about him. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/feb/07/mike-bloomberg-2020-campaign-instagram-influencers

He also said this during an interview in September 2018.
“It’s impossible to conceive that I could run as a Republican — things like choice, so many of the issues, I’m just way away from where the Republican Party is today,” Mr. Bloomberg said. “That’s not to say I’m with the Democratic Party on everything, but I don’t see how you could possibly run as a Republican. So if you ran, yeah, you’d have to run as a Democrat.”

So is the party just a thing of convenience for him to met his end goals?

Am I the only one that has alarm bells going off in my head over this guy? Our candidates, our Democratic candidates are being squeezed out because of him. They can’t outspend him. No way in hell can they drop the amount of money he is going to. All our candidates have is the donations we send and the support we give. Our candidates answer to us or risk losing it all. Who is Bloomberg accountable to?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

BLOOMBERG is NOT afraid of BLACK EXCELLENCE. Like JOE BIDEN, he embraces it.
He is qualified to be president
He passes the 3C-test - Character, Competence and Capacity (Capacity is about the candidate's ability to put together the most qualified most ethical executive branch leadership team.)
BLOOMBERG recognizes that there's a black wealth class, middle class, working class and underclass. He understands we want to give folks on the bottom rung a hand up while expanding access and opportunity to those on a higher rung.

He has a working relationship with President Obama, the most important of which is My Brother's Keeper.

His is a message of hope and restoration.

What he said about juvenile crime is true. I know this because I used to run community based criminal justice programs for black youth. This is based on DATA. Solving the problem is complex. If you want to understand why watch Iyanla Vanzant on OWN. No one breaks it down better than her.

I'm a mature well educated voter with a high level of emotional intelligence. So much of the stuff on here is middle school nonsense. We're talking about saving our Republic. I don't give a damn what any of these candidates said six minutes ago.

I'm choosing from candidates who can form the broadest coalition and have the skills to assume the presidency day one. There are only three - BIDEN, BLOOMBERG and BENNET.

Do you realize that MOST of the companies Bloomberg invests in, and Bloomberg himself, pay a lower percentage of taxes than we do? Warren Buffett said he pays less than his secretary (and to his credit says the system is rigged).

Bloomberg's pile of money is unacceptable. Since Citizens United the United States is turning into an oligarchy. These are facts. It's not acceptable.

Much better Democratic candidates have been fighting hard and have had to drop out due to lack of funds — Harris, Booker and maybe now Warren. None of this makes me happy

I wrote a post saying that instead of invading, we should put up a checkpoint at the borders of Iraq... and pay every man, woman, and child $10,000 to leave Iraq and not return and to give up any claims to the land of Iraq or it's resources.

After a few months, then we invade and take the rest prisoner.

20,000,000 people or $200,000,000,000.

It would have worked... cost us about 10% of what the war actually cost us and secured for us the Iraq oil reserves.

With almost no loss of life or destruction of property.

In retrospect, a pretty good idea.

it as well as his claim, utterly unfounded, that it brought down the crime rate. A few months before he apologized to the AA community he’d so impacted, according to NYT, he was still unapologetic about the policy and, in fact, laughed at the idea of “an apology tour.”

Apparently, what changed was that he decided to run.

Personally, I don’t trust him, don’t see him as a savior, and find the idea that he can buy the nomination sad. It is also true that he is a media mogul, so a huge advantage there. I’d rather a
Sanders presidency if my guy can’t get in.

OPINION
MICHAEL BLOOMBERG
STOP AND FRISK
A few Sundays ago, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg popped his head into the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn and said something I genuinely didn't see coming. The trip came amid swirling rumors that Bloomberg was, once again, considering a run for president in 2020, this time as a Democrat. Those of us who follow politics closely have seen this movie before: Just about every four years, Bloomberg very publicly ponders the prospect of running for president, only to decide at the last minute that he doesn't want to do it. This time, though, is different.

Bloomberg, like other billionaires, has been vocal in recent months about exactly how little he likes the proposals from Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders to tax extreme wealth. He, like Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, is apparently gravely concerned that the Democratic Party is moving too far left, and doesn't think demonizing the rich is going to get us anywhere. Which is why Bloomberg decided to go to a megachurch in Brooklyn and tell the mostly black audience he had changed his mind: The most controversial policy of his mayoral tenure, stop-and-frisk, had been a mistake after all.

This was a policy Bloomberg had defended tooth and nail for years. In fact, he had gone to that same church in 2012 and declared unequivocally that stop-and-frisk saves lives, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary and objections from racial justice and civil liberties advocates who argued, correctly, that the policy was unconstitutional.

But when I saw what Bloomberg said, I thought one thing immediately: This guy really wants to be the president.

I view defeating a presidential incumbent as a gift, a surreal bonus.

That's why I don't care about any of these attachments to Bloomberg. We need to get across the finish line.

None of our others candidates are even close to ideal. They wouldn't be ideal in an open race, let alone versus an incumbent.

I am desperate to win. Details mean nothing except who owns that best chance. We don't want to be sitting here stunned in the fall as our more pure nominee is steadily giving way.

Dominating the airwaves and the monetary aspect isn't teflon but it's the closest thing we would have seen in forever.

I'm reminded of that old commercial, "Try it...you'll like it"
