Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumBiden super PAC warns of 'doomsday scenario'
PoliticoA memo from the Unite the Country super PAC to donors, obtained by POLITICO, asserts that the party could pay a steep price if Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg or Amy Klobuchar is chosen as the nominee. Most ominously, it raises the specter of Sanders and billionaire Mike Bloomberg squaring off at a split convention.
Democrats must stand by Biden through the early stretch of the primary calendar to avoid that fate, the group implores.
Donors hedging their bets on Biden because of Bloomberg could be creating a doomsday scenario for Democrats everywhere, the groups treasurer, Larry Rasky, wrote. The Sanders-Warren wing of the Party is ready for the Bloomberg fight. Democrats cannot afford a split Convention.

(2,706 posts)Then he should drop out. That state is a must win for him. Just like N.H. is a must win for Sanders.

It's hard to interpret this as a sign of confidence.

(32,017 posts)Biden's support is very broad but only an inch deep. That said, I think he'll be fine if he can make it to Super Tuesday after winning SC (and he must win SC to survive). Otherwise, his funding (which is already weak) will dry up.

He will be the new comeback grandpa if he wins NV or SC.
He is finished if he loses SC.

(32,017 posts)It's a caucus state, for one thing, and that tends to favor candidates with deep support (like Sanders). Democratic caucuses also tend to favor more liberal candidates. Instead, Biden must win SC, and then he needs a good showing on Super Tuesday. Both of those are reasonable (if not likely) scenarios.

(32,017 posts)NV is eleven days away. Undoubtedly, NH results will have some impact on the NV race. I suppose we shall see what we see, but I expect Bernie to win NV. Joe is not expected to win that state (from what I have read).

(11,045 posts)not as far as this Warren supporter is concerned anyway. If you think a majority of Warren delegates will vote for a guy with a 'Socialist' albatross around his neck, guess again.
