But this one is.

The fate of the Republic and the welfare of our people and the welfare of the world is hanging in the balance. Not hyperbole this time out because Trump and his cronies are systematically dissembling our institutions, spitting on the rule of law and shredding the Constitution to benefit themselves.

We either win this thing or we kiss the country good-bye.

31. They are all important...this one with the Republic hanging in the balance with a fascist GOP
Tue Feb 11, 2020, 04:46 PM
Feb 2020

in office particularly...but if the left had supported Gore then no war, fewer deaths from Katrina, less environmental damage, no united, fewer right wing justices and no economic debacle...this country would be a better place ...no Democrat is worse than Trump and if we falter now and don't vote for the Democratic nominee, than we have 6-3 court, we lose health care and maybe even our republic...Trump is a fascist...I would expect Obama, Hillary,Biden and others to be prosecuted too.

If the Green/ left hadn't beat up Kerry in the primary,Bush would have been limited to four years...imagine how much better that would have been. And of course the mother of all betrayals by the Green /left, Hillary- 2016- which has led to caged babies, horrible violence against POC and Jewish Americans...a resurgence of the white supremacists, two fucking justices on the SCOTUS, an untold number of judges who are unqualified at the lower levels of the court, a corrupt Justice department, and this disaster of a presidency may end in nuclear holocaust because Trump thinks it is OK to use them...Trump has restarted the arms races too...those who did not vote for the Democratic nominee in 16 particularly have blood on their hands and pretty much helped the GOP destroy the progressive movement and the country.

As for the other years and I include the Green left's abandonment of Pres. Obama, well, doing this handed policy wins to the GOP, the house and the Senate was handed over. We also lost legislatures and governorships in the states which helped the. GOP gerrymander the house which still hurts us today.

Every fucking election is important...and we are now in big trouble...we lose this one and it is over. I don't think the left /Greens understand this. I consider what they do most years is akin rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic: such as primarying Democrats, fielding candidates who are not electable, criticizing the Democratic Party which drives voters away etc...So every election is important and this one...because of what was done to Hillary in 2016 is essential. All the policy the left/Greens hate was pretty much because they failed to support the Democratic nominee and/or a Democratic Presidents during the Mid Terms.

So now we stand before the abyss. We need to think long and hard about who can beat Trump before voting in the primaries. And then we need to vote for the Democratic nominee no matter what. We may not get another chance in future years if fascist Trump gets his way. The situation is that desperate.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

That's a compelling chart!

This is an argument I have with my 33yo son who says his friends are supporting Bernie. "Do they vote?" I asked. He doesn't know. So...

So do most younger AfAm's vote as much as their white counterparts?

I just know that I trust Henry Louis Gates to hire a highly qualified person as political editor at The Root and he chose Jason. But i don't know Jason's methods of collecting info.

The ONLY thing I care about is what every sane person should: removing that devil from the WH. I've supported Bernie, Amy, & Biden but I'll support Bloomberg if he is deemed to have the best chance of defeating Moscow's choice idiot. I do love that Bloomberg is going for his old enemy's throat.

To the point that broader electability is such a key issue...

A national Reuters/Ipsos poll released Monday found Sen. Bernie Sanders leading President Donald Trump by 18 percentage points among independent voters in a hypothetical general election match-up.

According to the new survey, Sanders has the support of 46% of registered independent voters while Trump polled at 28% support. The poll also showed former Vice President Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Michael Bloomberg, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) ahead of Trump among independents, but Sanders' lead was the largest.

"Bernie Sanders is undeniably the strongest candidate against Donald Trump," tweeted journalist Walker Bragman in response to the new survey.

The poll also found Sanders leading Trump nationally among all registered voters.
