Bloomberg has also been endorsed by former Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter, and by former Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

That probably isn't a complete list. I just took some names off Wikipedia's page of Bloomberg endorsements, and confirmed them via articles found on Google.

Anyway...I don't know how many, if any, of these mayors will withdraw their endorsements of Bloomberg because of old audio circulated by supporters of one of his rivals, now going viral.

My best guess is that they probably understand the context of the remarks. And Bloomberg has admitted that the stop and frisk policy was a mistake, and apologized for it.

But we'll see what these mayors, who respect Bloomberg enough to have endorsed him, will do.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Do they enjoy broad support in their cities? If so, their endorsements might count for something.

I don't think about mayors much, except for the mayor of my own city, St. Paul. He's losing the confidence of a lot of people who voted for him, right now. It's too bad. But I don't know how any of those mayors are doing in their cities.

The action of attempting to explain or justify behavior or an attitude with logical reasons, even if these are not appropriate. You may not see it, but that's what you're doing.

And btw, unless you make a practice of complaining that all endorsements posted here are somehow "rationalizations" (and I hope for everyone's sake that you don't), you're being more than a little hypocritical to level that silly accusation at my OP.
