VP is just not worth losing a seat there.

Senator Casey is a possible choice.

Kamala Harris is probably on every list although I don't know if they'd want XX/XX

Cory Booker might be a strong possibility

Castro to reach out to Latinos and progressives is another one.

Gretechan Witmer impressed me but she's green. That would be like Clinton/Gore, similar characters.

You might be interested in knowing that the last VP candidate to "deliver" their home state (that wouldn't have voted for the candidate anyway) was Edmund Muskie in 1968, Maine was Republican then and certainly would have gone Nixon otherwise.

Kaine helped but Hillary still would have carried VA. Ditto Clinton carrying Tenn.

Picking a VP primarily to carry a state is kinda outdated. But your other points on Harris are well taken.

NJ does have a Democratic Governor yes, after Christie the state GOP had no chance to win.

If it's just to go after Texas electoral votes (which would be extra, 100% chance if we win Texas then we are winning in enough other states to win) I'd point out he didn't win Texas against a very unpopular and unlikable Cruz so it's highly unlikely he'd bring it along as a VP candidate.

And yes, we should support the nominee no matter what. But Bernie would add a lot of enthusiasm I think. But Booker or Abrams are good too. I also think Castro would be good. He's a person of color, young, and from Texas and putting him on the ticket might help turn Texas purple.
