Congratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!
DNC Chair Perez: any candidate under 10% at this point isn't viable

I disagree. Pete Buttigieg is under 10% Nationally and he already has won Iowa and will do no worse than 2nd today in NH.
Time will tell.
Amy might do very well also.
If I were to vote in a presidential

OP
DNC Chair Perez is WRONG to write off Pete Buttigieg as "unviable" despite what 538 says.

YOU clearly did NOT listen to what Perez actually said, listen to the FULL Video.

DNC Chair Tom Perez said yesterday he thinks any candidate under 10% at this point isn't viable and is no longer competitive in the primary
Despite these major trackers having Pete under 10%, DNC Chair Perez is wrong to write him off.
Pete just won Iowa and will do no worse than 2nd tonight in NH

(25,471 posts)6. You clearly didn't watch the video.
He didn't mention Pete at all and you're misrepresenting what he said.
Pete qualified by the other measure he mentioned, at least one delegate in a primary or caucus.
Seriously, it's barely a minute long. Watch it before you post so that you don't look ridiculous.

Perez: "No one at this point UNDER 10% HAS EVER GONE ON TO WIN THE NOMINATION"
"Seriously, it's barely a minute long. Watch it before you post so that you don't look ridiculous."
Well, perhaps you should follow your own advice?
Seems so.
So, yeah, DNC Chair Perez is WRONG to be writing Pete Buttigieg off as being "unviable". Period.
He wasn't just talking about qualifying for the next debate.

(25,471 posts)9. Bullshit.
He said it was based on polls AND delegates in a primary or caucus. You just chose to ignore the latter. No one is writing off Buttigieg.
Context is a thing.

Perez: "NO ONE AT THIS POINT UNDER 10% EVER WENT ON TO WIN THE NOMINATION"
Sorry, but it's just impossible to spin that away.

In either case, I think it's a bit early to declare anyone's candidacy dead based on <10%.

At this stage we really do need to start winnowing out this large field of candidates and get serious. Too many candidates means splitting up available resources while at the same time trump has the filed all to himself.
