There was a 5 way GOP Governor's race and I crossed over and voted for the craziest of the crazy 5. Many others did as well, but the richest candidate won.

As far as i know once you are registered you remain so as along as you vote regularly .Of course you have to change your address and name should you get married or something like that.

young adults can participate in after signing up: the primariy. As opposed to going somewhere and signing up and seeing nothing happen. Kids. Short attention spans. Looking for only fun things to do.
