Cross-over voting

I guess from Trump's recent comments about his deplorables voting in Democratic primaries, we will likely see cross-over voting by Rus-publicans voting for the candidate that they think is the easiest for Dear Impeached Leader to beat.

I'm curious what DUers think about cross-over voting. If I recall correctly, since 2000, we've really only had one uncontested Democratic primary season, namely 2012 with President Obama. In every other primary, including 2000, there has been more than one potentially strong D candidate. Have we suffered as a result? If not, WILL we suffer this time or in the future.

To me, allowing cross-over voting can really hurt us. Why is this allowed by states? It's essentially a legal "dirty trick." I'm just very concerned that we will need to deal with this on our side in the coming weeks as we go through the primary.

To the extent I'm not being overly paranoid, how exactly do we/the Ds deal with cross-over voting by Trump's sycophants?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
