If Amy could pull off a surprise 3rd place finish tonight...

Why couldn’t Biden?

She and Pete have obviously been campaigning very hard.

If Biden’s strategy is to use SC as a firewall, he may have miscalculated.

And for Biden supporters, I can relate. I’m disappointed with Warren’s performance in NH as well. That said, the top 3 in NH are all good candidates, and as I have said before, I couldn’t be happier with the field as it is.

Add to that a huge number of very late deciders and it adds up to real momentum. Good for her! My problem with her is, I’m afraid she doesn’t have the organization to take her to the next level. She also doesn’t have the cash needed to be a top tier candidate.

As for Biden, I think his campaign was bungled from the start. He is a genuinely good person, but not a good debater. His press availability strategy has been stupid. Name recognition has allowed him to survive a bad start but if he doesn’t pull it together, he’ll be gone soon enough and that’s a pity.

and she will find the right people to take her to the next level. She has the drive, and after her last debate, she has much better numbers, especially if she does good tonight.

5th in a state that borders her own is pretty bad, but Iowa was a fiasco. Klobuchar wasn't a threat to anyone and was able to stay above the fray in the debate, and she had a solid performance in said debate.

A 2nd place finish in NH could do for her what it did for Bill "comeback kid" Clinton in 1992. A strong 3rd is also significant, especially since Buttigieg probably can't win with his alienation of Black folks.

Nevada and South Carolina will undoubtedly, as usual, be impacted by what's taken place in Iowa and New Hampshire. Narrative matters, and there's always something of a snowball effect. That said, the crowd is larger than normal this year, and that does add a wrinkle.

I went to Klobuchar and Biden events in New Hampshire this past weekend. Biden's campaign was tired and weak. Klobuchar's campaign was energetic and cheerful.

Reality sucks, but that's what it is.
