Buttigieg has more delegates, and is therefore the frontrunner where it matters. He probably won't be the nominee, but his victories show Bernie's support was pretty soft in states where it was assumed he'd clean up. Iowa's a caucus state - he was supposed to win there and he didn't. NH is right next door to his home state, and he only tied with Buttigieg for delegates. Not firm; kinda limp, actually.

This would be like Buttigieg claiming he was clearly the front runner now. Which he kind of is, but I doubt he'll announce. It's all too tenuous.

PSA: Premature delegation isn't fun for any of the parties involved. It always leads to one person feeling too fulfilled and proud and another left wanting. Which often leads to self-fulfillment down the road by the other person. Which tends to not end well for the premature delegation candidate, their egos often get... deflated.

It's best to give this some time and let the active parties get their groove on and see how it fleshes out.
