If some comic book writer came up with an storyline where one NYC billionaire fights another NYC billionaire, the editor would throw the writer out on his butt.

Respondents who put themselves at the center of the political spectrum are the least supportive of democracy, according to several survey measures. These include views of democracy as the “best political system,” and a more general rating of democratic politics. In both, those in the center have the most critical views of democracy.

for the Democratic Party to repudiate Sanders and Warren by nominating Biden, Buttigieg, or Klobuchar, but it would be a real poke in the eye with a sharp stick to progressives if we nominate one of the richest people in America to the job, it would say that we're no better than the MAGAts who worship Trump's money.

Faced with the choice of four more years of Trump and eight possible years of Bloomberg, they will have a choice to make. AOC would be Constitutionally eligible to run for President in 2024, and it's easier to get a change in the party that holds the WH after eight years instead of four.

that all Democratic voters feel that way. I lived very near NYC from 2007 to 2017, I've seen the way Bloomberg manages to get his way, even when the rules of the game are against him. After Sens. Booker, Harris, and Bennet were essentially cleared out of the way, the DNC changed its debate rules to roll out the red carpet for Bloomie.

I still think that if we really want a billionaire, we have one who's managed to get into the debates by the old rules, and who has never supported Republicon causes and officeholders.

I really don't want Bloomberg to be the nominee, and if he is the nominee, I think he should pick a person of color (preferably also a woman) as his VP, so the ticket is at least somewhat reflective of who we are as a party. Also, if progressives are going to have to suck it up and vote for a Bush-endorsing Republican as our nominee, he could at least throw a bone to them with his VP pick.

I like Amy a lot but I don't want to have an all-white ticket, and I think the ticket should be a balance of the moderate and liberal wings of the party.

Nothing close to an ideal nominee.

So it makes sense to be bold and patch something together.

This is the ticket I prefer. I would never regret it despite any outcome. You have to be loyal to your instincts and handicapping ability at the time, and not anguish over variables that became obvious only after the fact.

I understand the appeal of a white knight to ride in with unlimited money to take down Trump.

But as it has been written ... "what profits a man if he gains the whole world but loses his own soul?”

The Democratic Party will be finished if it succumbs to the 78 year old Bloomberg.

Two giant hypocrisies come with Bloomberg:
1) the party against Citizens United following a free-spending billionaire;
2) those who are so exercised about Sanders not always being a Democrat (but he was never a Republican!) nominating a genuine 'former' Republican.

Klobuchar-Booker sounds much, much better to me.
