Not getting emotionally attached to a specific candidate is much less stressful, plus I'm fine with several of the candidates as a potential nominee this cycle. It's the first time in memory that I haven't backed a specific candidate.

Not having a specific candidate actually makes it easier to focus on November, particularly down-ticket races which are going to be very important. Time can be better spent supporting local and state candidates, encouraging people to register to vote, getting out the vote, etc.

I like certain more than one candidate, but I have reservations about them all, for different reasons. Being undecided is not an issue, if anything, it gives us the leverage to continue learning about each one of the candidates.

Having said all that, I am not undecided, I will vote Democratic, that is my solid decision.

At the end of the day, the most important fact is that, and I commit the same sin of assuming, we undecided will vote for the nominee, no matter who he/she is.

Klobuchar was 5th in a state that borders her own, a state in which she poured a lot of time and energy. That's pretty awful. But the chaos of Iowa threw her a lifeline. Instead of negative headlines about a poor showing, she and others simply said "off to New Hampshire" and let the media focus on the fiasco. This enabled her to stay above the fray by not being anyone's target at the most recent debate. She gained some momentum, which may enable her to build some infrastructure in the following states. Ultimately, though, it's hard to see where she can win, especially with near-zero support among persons of color. Eventually, you have to rack up wins. Finishing 3rd or worse does not make for a path to the nomination.

Plus, I doubt I'm alone in thinking Klobuchar lacks charisma.

Buttigieg is in a similar position, and maybe even a worse one, since he's actually alienated Black folks. On the other hand, he's had more success than Klobuchar so far. Again, though, it's hard to see where he's going to rack up wins.

31. Warren wants to implement M4A, Klobucher doesn't
Wed Feb 12, 2020, 04:26 PM
Feb 2020

Disclaimer: I am not trying to bash any candidate, it just made me curious that you go back and forth from two candidates with very different agendas, so I decided to look at more specifics.

Warren also believes in free education for all, Klobucher does not... I believe Klobucher is a great Senator and her contribution is best served there, but that is just my opinion.

Klobucher doesn't seem to want to change education much, of course that she is proposing to better things to the way they are now, but she is not willing to eliminate "Student Loans", just make it easier for students to pay it, at a better rate, so considering that student loans right now are at 8.5%, maybe that could mean a 7.5%? which compared to a loan for a property is about 5% higher?

I just went to her website.
She says she supports "Universal Healthcare" but as a public option and changes to Obamacare making it more affordable. There are no specifics on how affordable she wants to make it, what the expansion to Medicare and Medicaid are.
I could not find where she proposes changes about education on her website, the one I show above came from another website.

Warren's plans are very well explained and extensive:
My plan to cancel student loan debt, provide tuition-free public college. She also wants to improve Public Education and Devos is the 1st one to go.
My Medicare for All plan gives everyone good insurance and cuts their health care costs to nearly zero - without increasing middle-class taxes one penny.

Of course there are more differences between the two candidates...Interesting.

anything put in front of them that will help people with HC.

Warrens plan to reduce college debt is limited and much more practical than Sanders. I am good with helping poorest of poor. Not the rich doctors and lawyers and wallstreeters that want to eliminate their debt. All Democrats are into free two year colleges and if they want to work on something that will help out those in need for state university, I am good with that. Pell grant works well. Strengthen that. I imagine like with HC, Warren will support anything that helps those that need it.

Not sure how you can disconnect one from the other. If she lost her temper and she yelled (raised her voice in anger) to one of her employees, that is called abuse. Not sure how you would define it any other way.

If we go by that premise we would have to excuse the creature in the WH because he looses his temper, it seems everyday, and starts yelling at people, I find that is abuse.

Abuse is abuse, whether you want to accept it or not, if a man or a woman looses their temper and yells abusive remarks to an employee, that is abuse anywhere in the World.

Just because Amy did it and you support her doesn't make it right. Anyone who supports that thought process has no right to criticize the MAGATS or even McConnell, I mean, where is the difference?

There are bosses who do lose their tempers when they are super stressed. So far as I can see, she has staff that are supposed to be her assistant when she travels. Assistants are supposed to anticipate their bosses needs. When you fail to consider she might need food/nutrition during a workday that involves a long flight, they really suck.

I emphasized that more than a year ago.

Unfortunately Democrats do not have sound grasp of priorities or the applicable math. A socialist does not win in a nation with 9% more conservatives than liberals

Especially when all the swing states are swing states for exactly that reason...they contain roughly the same ideological breakdown as the nation itself

We think of Michigan as a Democratic state. We are dunce enough to define it that way alone. Meanwhile it was 36% conservatives to 27% liberals in 2016. That's what we face.

Swing voters are very real. They dictate outcomes. Fear is very real. Incumbency is very real.

Moderates are not the exciting choice. They are the correct choice. I'll always leave enthusiasm in the coat rack if I can have preference arm in arm

It is actually very good, it keeps your capitalism alive, the only difference is that it is more regulated to prevent abuse, it provides social services that help citizens work better, improve their lives, it fully supports Democracy but rule of law is observed to a "T", in the case of the candidate whom I think you direct it to, clean air will be a priority, investigation of this administration will happen, and many other great things...I know, it sound horrendous.

I would suggest you visit his and Warren's website to find out what is in their respective agendas, its horrible (Universal Healthcare, Free Education, Clean Air, etc.), but a little scare won't hurt.

I’ll admit DU has surprised me by highlighting how centrist I am. At one time someone who believed in pro choice, decriminalization of drugs, increased funding for school and extended programs, major arts funding, a global perspective, high minimum wage, etc. etc. would have been very liberal.

I picked Biden because I thought he could beat Trump. As of this minute, I still think he can beat Trump. I still think he is the one.

However, if he were to bomb in NV/SC, I would likely pick another candidate when I go to vote on Super Tuesday.

If Klobuchar or Buttigieg were to win NV, I would likely go with them. I went to both of their websites last night and read through their issues. I noticed Pete had more details laid out in a searchable PDF format. I liked that. I made a small donation to Pete and thought about a small donation to Klobuchar, but then quibbled and decided to give that small donation to Biden, instead. (I am on disability and only get $700 a month to live on).

So, it's not that people are discounting her. I really don't think they are. I think it's that people are in deep thought right now. This is such an important decision and we have so many good candidates.
