Samoas too. But I can't have them in the house because I EAT THEM! So I make a $5 donation to the troop and walk away from the table in front of my grocery store. Besides, all of that money goes to the local troop, whereas they only get 50 cents from each box they sell.

Oh, excellent post BTW. Love the letter for the front door!

....running for local office. But he was a personal friend who did a few favors for us (he's a contractor). He knew I wasn't going to vote for him.

I see that sign left off religious hawkers or "Jehosophat's Witnesses", who we duck like the plague. We actually have a plan with our neighbors, if either sees Jehovah's Witnesses in the area, we call each other in advance with a warning.

BTW, I loved those thin mint cookies decades ago - when I was 7 or 8 I ate a whole box and got physically nauseated. To this day I can't even smell them without getting ill.

It just states that door to door sales, religious proselytes and republicans need not bother knocking but any Democrat will be welcomed.

My state rep stopped by the house and took a picture of the sign.

With an extra paragraph about the Jehovah Witness weirdo's!

They seem to be the only faction to disregard the "No Soliciting" signs posted all over the hood.

Girl Scouts in Illinois have a new marketing strategy. Weed has been legal since January 1, but there are limited dispensaries opened, so some groups are setting up tables outside the pot shops.

... in solid-blue Pittsburgh are the local candidates. People running for City Aldermen, or maybe precinct/district representatives to Harrisburg. I don't remember ever seeing a Republican at my door, but I could be wrong.
