Let's use Bernie shopping at Ross as an exemplar...

If he didn't shop there, people would deride him as a hypocrite. Since he does shop there, people deride him as an opportunist.

In the eyes of his detractors, there is literally nothing he can do that is good.

If I were to vote in a presidential

This photo tells us nothing -- and it wouldn't matter even if it did. Lots of people shop at Ross for Less, including other millionaires. The book The Millionaire Next Door talks about how many rich people retain the frugal habits of their youth. That helps them stay rich.
