This is my first and probably only post in Primaries.

So, I read a recent article in medium - https://medium.com/justinward/i-wont-vote-blue-no-matter-who-d97b823af0d3

If this has already been discussed here, I apologize. I'm on the road and have been away from DU.

Mr. Ward doesn't represent the vast majority of the Sanders backers I've interacted with since I 1st met a Sanders supporter. But his attitude is not rare either.
(Edited to correct a big error he DOESN'T reflect the vast majority in my experience, I fucked up a cut and paste)

Mr. Ward and his compatriots are harmful to the Senator's cause.

I believe further that his position will poison the well in the General if Senator Sanders does in fact win the nomination.

I cannot condone simple blackmail, and that is all his OP-ED is. His concluding statement is simple enough to understand:

The threat that we won’t show up at the polls is our bargaining chip. I might vote in November. I might not. If you’re worried about it, then I guess you better vote to nominate Bernie Sanders.

Nice America you got. Be a real shame if something were to happen to it.

Democrats need to so massively swamp the polls that not only do we short circuit Putin's ratfucking, and the GOP's voter suppression efforts but also overwhelm whatever percentage of Sanders' supporters who would rather assist Trump than oust him.

Edited again to fix link... Sheese

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I would suggest that they are republican or russian agitators and ratfuckers but I know several real-life people that are just as bad. All I can suggest to the legitimate Sanders people out there trying to make the case for him is to reign in the obnoxious people that you know that are actually harming his campaign. This forum is loaded with people expressing fear that "centrist" voters will be "scared away" from voting Democratic if Sanders is the nominee. Physical ballots can not distinguish between centrist and leftist voters, they just record who is being voted for, and the loss of a vote from the left is the same as the loss of a vote from the center. I spent much of the 2016 campaign arguing with leftist to get them to vote against Trump. Some did, some didn't. I will do all I can to make the attitude you are complaining about rare. But if Democrats nominate someone like Mike Bloomberg for President don't be naive about that not costing us votes from the left. It would.

His law enforcement policies as Mayor were shit.

He used his anti gun organization as little more than an Email address harvesting operation in preparation to running for president and he is a smarmy asshole in my opinion.

In other words about 27 times better than Trump.

Make no mistake I WILL VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO, but I agree that a Bloomberg candidacy would hurt turn out on the left

Mr. Ward is pretty obnoxious and offensive, example:

Obama’s presidency was a disappointment—albeit one I saw coming. He managed to wind down US involvement in Iraq only to expand the War on Terror to multiple other theaters. He traded the one big “dumb war” for several smaller—and more inconspicuous— “smart wars” fought with “surgical strikes” delivered by high-tech drones.

Obama was timid in his first term despite having control over Congress and a firm mandate. Instead of being aggressive and using this advantage to push through some of his more ambitious proposals, Obama opted to pursue bipartisanship with a Republican minority hell-bent on obstruction.

If he's such an expert, I wonder how he'd do in the Oval Office?

Statistics have shown that Sanders supporters were typical voters as in other election cycles in support of the eventual nominee.

There will always be those who don't want to support the nominee. There were Hillary supporters who refused to vote for Obama (PUMA voters). Hell, I remember Democrats who refused to vote for Dukakis!

Don't fall for it. Sanders supporters are NOT the enemy. Trump is. And with Trump, is the whole back force of Russian propaganda experts.
