1. How many college students are old enough to vote, and of those how many actually do so?

3. I reckon most are old enough, but their (young folk) participation rate is lower than older groups.

7. Their turnout increased in 2018. But this level of support for any candidate is significant

And not just for the obvious reason. When support for anything surges to encompass most of any age group that feeds a bandwagon effect. All of us here either are or once have been young, right? With youth more so than most the feeling of being part of a movement is a potent one. It motivates, it creates peer incentives to participate, and to help fuel the growth of that movement.

Youth turnout is support of some generally positive outcome is one thing. Youth turnout is support of someone whom a movement is organized around is another thing. I expect youth to turn out in greater numbers in 2020 no matter who our candidate is (though Bloomberg may well under perform in this age group). However I expect youth turn out to surge if Bernie heads our ticket

With Sanders running for President marching to the voting booth could become the equivalent of what marching in the streets was to my generation.

I turned 18 3 months before I started college. But the majority of college students are not Freshman.

Out of 8.5 million male college students in 2018, ~84,000 were under the age of 18.
Out of 11.2 million female college students in 2018, ~143,000 were under the age of 18.

Your concern is noted.

5. Important part of this, imho:

The poll includes "more than 1,500 full and part-time students attending two- and four-year colleges or universities".

These aren't just kids at full-time four year universities so the demographics are more diverse than some may assume.

Also notable, looks like Bloomberg has a whopping 2% of Democratic college voters. LOL

graduate student. She has no student debt but has worked full time while going to school.

She is upset with her friends who are Bernie supporters because they honestly think he can cancel all of their student debt. Her best friend has a year to go in grad school and owes $275,000 right now. She does not work and her live-in boyfriend does not work.

Trump just announced he plans on eliminating all student loan forgiveness. Bernie may not be able to eliminate all her debt, but he's more likely to reduce her debt than Trump is.

the friends $275K in private student debt.

jftr - My young friend thinks that her do nothing peer group should be ashamed of themselves and should be thinking of helping others instead of thinking only of themselves and how they can just play and travel for the rest of their lives if Bernie is elected. (her words not mine)

Comparable to Biden's numbers pre-Iowa/NH. Unfortunately, state polls are limited. We could really use some new ones soon.
