New FLA poll with Bloomberg 27% Biden 26% Sanders 10% was done AFTER NH primary

So Democratic voters in Florida had already seen Sanders effectively tied with Buttigieg in Iowa and very narrowly ahead in NH, and their response was a loud "NO, THANK YOU."

Warren is at 5% in Florida, so the two most leftwing candidates have a combined total of, wow, 15%.

Bloomberg and Biden have a combined total of 53%.

Add in Buttigieg (11%) and Klobuchar (9%) and the top moderate candidates have a combined total of 73%.

73% to 15%.

We can forget about Florida if Sanders is the nominee.

And this is before the GOP can flood Florida with ads showing what Sanders has said about Castro.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Now I speak only for myself, but my party problems with Bernie don't extend to Bloomberg for that simple reason. It's also why I had absolutely no problem at all with warren's long ago history with the Republican party.

If Bloomberg's platform was attacking the Democratic Party, Democratic Party Leadership I'd have just as big an issue with him wearing our party tag as I do with BS.

If Bloomberg's campaign leadership was filled with people who helped deny us the first female president in our history, and putting Trump into place by their outspoken, and to this day completely unapologetic support of 3rd party I'd have just as big a problem with his wearing of our party tag as I do with BS.

So, yeah, there is a double standard, but there's definitely justifiable reason for it.

Here's a page from a state government website (Office of Economic and Demographic Research):

I live in Florida, Bernie would get destroyed here. That would have also happened in 2016.

I believe Hillary lost Florida because she didn't make ANY personal appearance in the less urban parts of the state. Even with that, she lost the state by only 115,000 votes, a tiny number out of the approximately 8 million that were cast in 16.

Methodology:
The poll was conducted through an automated phone call polling system. The results were then
weighted to account for proportional differences between the respondents' demographics and the
demographics of the active Democratic voter population for the state of Florida. The weighting
demographics used were: race, age, gender and media market.
Respondents that stated they were not likely to vote in the March 17th Primary election were
excluded from the results.
The scientific results shown for the questions below have a sample size of 3,047 and a 1.8% Margin
of Error at a 95% confidence level.

It reinforces what I've been thinking about how this might go at the convention.

Bernie Sanders' drop in the polling in FL adds to my interest in this poll.

Once again, I'm eagerly waiting for the Super Tuesday results on March 4. We'll have a much better picture then. This election year is going to break some long-held conventional wisdom, I believe. It may change how presidential primary politics go from now on.

Until we know what happens on Super Tuesday, though, it's too early to predict anything from this individual poll, I think.

Maybe it requires living here to understand that, especially living in South Florida. Bernie Sanders would not be competitive, at least not in terms of recent statewide results.

Trump would spend some and campaign some merely due to his homes and Doral, etc., but he wouldn't need to do it. Fear and old white people would dictate the state. We would lose the House races we won narrowly in 2018. None of this is theoretical. It is unavoidable.

The hilarious aspect would be if Bernie Sanders were actually dunce enough to contest Florida, just like Hillary was dunce enough to contest Ohio and Iowa given the realities of 2016.

The Andrew Gillum 2018 example is merely a minor league version of what would happen to Bernie Sanders in this state. There won't be any reason to pay attention.

Joe Biden
