This is the stage where everyone takes off the gloves.

I suppose as long as what they say is true and not an ugly personal attack, it is to be expected.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_McAleenan

McAleenan served as acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection from January 2017 to March 20, 2018.

President Donald Trump nominated McAleenan to assume the position of commissioner in a permanent capacity in May 2017. McAleenan's previous nomination was supported by officials from both the George W. Bush and the Barack Obama administrations, a number of whom signed a letter to Congress expressing "enthusiastic support" for the "supremely qualified" McAleenan.Trump officially submitted the nomination to the Senate on May 22. The Senate confirmed McAleenan's nomination on March 19, 2018, by a vote of 77–19. He was sworn in on March 20, 2018.

More than a dozen Republicans -- many of them former border patrol chiefs -- are among the signers of a letter sent to Congress on Thursday in support of McAleenan's nomination. But so are former President Obama's most-recent homeland security secretary, Jeh Johnson, and deputy secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas.

"Each of us has worked directly with Mr. McAleenan and can personally attest to his honesty, integrity, patriotism, and commitment to the homeland security mission and to the security of the United States," reads the letter signed by eight former high-level Homeland Security officials in the Obama administration and another nine who served at senior levels under former President George W. Bush, including former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

McAleenan is “supremely qualified” to lead the border protection agency, the letter says.

The Senate Finance Committee on Thursday afternoon unanimously approved Kevin McAleenan’s confirmation to serve as commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), moving the vote to the full Senate for final approval.

Since the announcement of his nomination, McAleenan has received bipartisan support within the Senate Finance Committee. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, the committee’s chairman, voiced his confidence in McAleenan to run the agency and implement the 2015 Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act. The committee’s ranking member, Ron Wyden, D-Ore., said, “He’s got the right focus,” especially when it comes to taking on “modern-day trade cheats.”

When I look back on my lengthy career, I can count on one hand the number of people whose intelligence, honesty and intellect I have the utmost respect and admiration for, and Kevin is one of them,” said Gil Kerlikowske, who served as CBP commissioner during President Barack Obama’s second term, when McAleenan was his deputy. “I’m glad he’ll be there as acting secretary, but he’ll be in an incredibly difficult position, and I don’t envy him at all.”

Frankly, I expect a bloodbath if Bloomberg shows up. I’m sure Warren and Sanders would salivate at the chance to debate a real billionaire.

As far as this “issue” it’s a nothing burger.

But if Bloomberg is at the debate, watch them attack him for being the real evil billionaire.

He's second only to Sanders in that regard.

That's one of the reason those two are the frontrunners right now.

Or they might have all that money because they are the frontrunners. lol

It's a which came first, the chicken or the egg type of thing.

But, yeah, Pete is flush with cash.

You can google and try to find slightly more current numbers, but Pete has been second only to Sanders when it comes to fund raising.

So he's not in any danger of dropping out due to money compared to any other candidate.
