So...Trump's thinking of announcing a 10% income tax cut for the middle class in September.

Apparently to help him in the GE.

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/02/14/trump-middle-class-tax-cut-115262

No idea if Trump really intends to get this. I'm guessing the proposal will be mostly for show, to help his campaign.

Anyone know how much any of our candidates' proposals would reduce taxes on the middle class?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

They have no idea what another trillion dollars in debt will do to our economy, they just see another 20 dollars in their paychecks.

I read an article on today's The Hill that says the US military is bracing for a corona virus pandemic in the US.

God help us, but if we start seeing lots of cases here, I sincerely believe Trump might use that as an excuse to declare martial law, or failing that, get special emergency powers.

Very few people today remember the fire at the Reichstag back on February 27, 1933. But we do remember the Holocaust which arose from Hitler using the Reichstag fire to assume 'special powers.'

To refresh everyone's memory, here's what the Encyclopedia Britannica says:

On February 28, 1933, the day after the fire, Hitler’s dictatorship began with the enactment of a decree “for the Protection of the People and the State,” which dispensed with all constitutional protection of political, personal, and property rights. Though the ensuing elections still did not give the Nazis an outright majority, they were able to persuade the Reichstag to pass an Enabling Act (March 23) whereby all its legislative powers were transferred to the Reich Cabinet by a vote of 444 to 94, so sanctioning the dictatorship.

If you think Republicans wouldn't vote Trump emergency powers in lock-step, think again. The only thing that could prevent that would be the Dems in the House.

I'm also guessing that our eventual nominee will have some manufactured controversy.
