her discussion with Rep Rush, that I thought she was going to lose it. She tried to tone it down by sending accolades to Rep. Rush. Even thought she finds Bloomberg's past distasteful, that tactic will not deter people of all ethnicities looking for a solution to ridding the nation of drumpf. People are willing to bite a bullet and deal with they feel are lesser after effects in the next administration.

(6,960 posts)No nominee will suppress anti-Trump turnout more than Bloomberg.
Billionaire versus billionaire is a loser for Democrats.

(10,721 posts)The driving force in the US today is opposition to the status quo.
And, over time, more and more people will learn what a racist and misogynistic asshole Bloomberg is, and that he's been buying support for decades.

(33,643 posts)There will 5 people who think ... well, the economies been pretty good under a low-level billionaire ... it'll probably go like GANGBUSTERS if a real-life top 10 richest people in the USA is President! I'm voting for him cause he's even RICHER than Trump!
There's a LOT of stupid here, don't forget.

(82,383 posts)Still, that does not mean he will lose the election. We have to give up the idea of a great show that will make us feel good that Dotard is mad that he's not richer than his opponent.

(6,960 posts)... if I were Trump, I would love to have Bloomberg as my opponent
Imagine, the party of the regular guy, unions, working folks, the young ... nominating an arrogant 78 year old mega-billionaire.
Bloomberg would get Trump off the hook for all of his hypocrisy and double standards.

(68 posts)I've been stopped & frisked, I "fit the profile", it's traumatizing, it pisses you off, it lingers, it makes having a positive relationship with cops tenuous, it's WILDLY DISPROPORTIONATE, it leaves a sense of unease because people like me feel like targets, nobody gave a shit when it happened to me except for the other people of color in my community who knew the drill, it's painful as a father to have "the talk" with my kids when they were young, it's like pouring salt in a wound hearing/reading Bloomberg's thoughts in favor of racial profiling.
FYI: Bloomberg also said in 2018 that food stamp recipients need to be fingerprinted !

(47,399 posts)overcomes this issue. It is very possible, of course, which is even more disturbing that Democrats would support him.
I'm so sorry you had to go through that and my heart breaks that parents have to prepare their children for such abuse.

(70,081 posts)and i have to tell you, it made me really sad to see him. i havent seen him in a while, and damn, is he old and frail. i suspect she was a little frustrated w him as he was hard to understand, but went on and on anyway.
he beat cancer a couple years ago, and no small number of people thought it might be a good time for him to step down. but now? dang bobby, pass the baton.
i share joy's reverence for his life and career, but if there is a backlash against bloomie, it would be a sad way for it to end.
