It is up to the rank and file to educate themselves as to what is in that Health and Welfare portion of your Union Contract. Yes,seen the abuses in Other Locals contracts,again these Employers Legal Beagles are paid big bucks to screw over unsuspecting Union member ignorance. Fought these same Assholes for more than two decades. In my Industry,we always had Contract openers in the Spring and drop dead Contracts at the Busiest time of the Year. That Industry peek Sales and Delivery time is about twelve weeks,and we always kept that as our hammer,only once did we use that hammer,that walkout lasted less than eight hours and the Employer Association got the message.

First read Deadly Sin and it opened my eyes. His apology to Michael Moore for his role in the insurance industry’s attack on his message in Sicko was profoundly moving.
