Policy can always be better, but sometimes problems don't become obvious or people ignore them in pursuit of objectives that they think are important, like reducing gun crime or crime in general.

Biden had 14 years to get well thought-out changes to the crime bill that he wrote inacted, he did nothing. Bernie voted for that bill and also could have changed it, he did nothing.

2. Biden and Klobuchar hit Bloomberg's Record
Sun Feb 16, 2020, 03:23 PM
Feb 2020
Former Vice President Joe Biden and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar took aim Sunday at former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg ahead of this week’s Democratic presidential debate.

Bloomberg hasn’t yet qualified for Wednesday’s NBC News and MSNBC debate in Las Vegas, but has through Tuesday to meet the party’s criteria.

With that potential clash looming, both Biden and Klobuchar criticized Bloomberg in interviews with “Meet the Press” at a time when the former mayor faces increased scrutiny over past comments about race, policing and women at his eponymous company.

“$60 billion can buy you a lot of advertising, but it can't erase your record. There's a lot to talk about with Michael Bloomberg,” Biden said, approximating Bloomberg’s net worth.

“You take a look at the stop-and-frisk proposals. You take a look at his ideas on redlining he's talking about. You take a look at what he's done relative to the African American community. I'm anxious to debate Michael on the issues relating to, you know, what we're going to face in Super Tuesday.”

“It's going to be awful hard to go out and win those — the base support of the Democratic party, the African Americans, Latinos and working class white folks, and put that coalition together. That's how you win an election. You put that coalition together,” he added.

Sun Feb 16, 2020, 03:52 PM
Feb 2020

Toomey got $11M in 2016 and barely won. If a couple of races had gone the other way, this could have been the pivotal seat giving control to the Democrats. Yet Bloomberg heaped millions on a REPUBLICAN - one of many over the years. He endorsed Bush twice. There is no whitewashing what he has done funding wise. Then he decided the only way to win was to run as a Dem so in 2018 he started funding Dems to try and over up what he really is. Sad that some on here are falling for it.

Bernie always votes to caucus with the Dems. If he had his way the Democrats would control the senate. Bloomberg wanted the repubs to control the senate and he got his way.

Bernie trashes the Democratic Party all the time. He did very little to help Hillary in 2016 and honestly the way he waited til the very end when he had already lost, among other things, probably contributed to Hillary's demise. Bernie only uses the Democratic Party when he wants to run for President

Being open to stop and frisk can fall under a similar category, some people see only one issue and not the complexity of society and politics. Bernie Sanders, for example seem to see everything through the lens of economic justice, even when issues like racism are not remotely related to economic justice. I am sure that Bloomberg will get a chance to explain in debates.

Nor is it entirely unfounded. As a liberal, I have been ticked off at the Democratic Party on many occasions over the years (particularly in the 1990s), so Bernie’s current shtick is no shock to me, but one would think he would tone it down when he’s running for President on the Democratic ticket.

"Tone it down?" As if there's a POLITE way to smear the party by saying that "there's no difference between the GOP and the Demcorats"?? THAT IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE!!

How does one "tone down" the accusation that the Democratic party is "corrupt" and "an absolute failure". Another LIE. Distructive, divisive, and denigrating. Things like that only serve to weaken the party with distrust and suspicion. It drives AWAY voters who may have otherwise believed that their vote mattered... who may have believed that the Democrats would be an improvement over the GOP.

What good purpose does it serve?

That type of talk and lies and smears is a source of negativity. Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.

I happen to be of the opinion that Daffy Duck could beat Donald Trump in November, so this issue does not mean that much to me, but I certainly hope that you feel better. I am concerned about coattails and control of the Senate, and, in that sense, Bernie is not my favorite candidate to run against the Great Pumpkin, but I will be perfectly happy with whomever we nominate. We have an exceptionally deep bench this year.

Cheers!

Bernie hasn't had much meaningful achievements on all the stuff he espouses too, criminal justice reform, Vt. farms out its prisoners, minimum wage, healthcare for all, civil rights reforms, if he can't get it to work there, he isn't going to get it anywhere. I've been listening to the same BS from BS for years....some people think its all fresh and new, it ain't.

Trump hasn't started his Bernie tweeting yet. It may be his revolution but it isn't our revolution. Some of the shining stars will be gone next year. They have co-opted the Democratic Party for their own agenda. His people threw the last election and they will do it again.
