I'm no longer undecided. I'm team Biden

Here's my thinking:

1. He seems like a good person
2. He seems pretty electable. The only person more electable is Bloomberg but he doesn't seem like a good person.
3. I love Elizabeth Warren but I think she'll have more trouble winning.
4. Mayor Pete will be hurt by his lack of experience. Maybe he'll come back later.
5. I like some of the others but they need more name recognition.
6. Sanders can't win. He's too far left for the electorate. Warren probably is too, though she'd be my choice in a perfect world.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

a la Michigan, Ohio and Pennsyvania (where he's practically a native son). May help to harvest a few former Trumpers, too in the process. While we have some outstanding potential candidates Joe is, IMO the only candidate that can beat the Orange Hellbeast.

We can't live on dreams of some utopia and how the US should be. We have to actually win. Also, we at DU are way to the left of the US as a whole, and even the Democratic party as a whole. We need someone who will have a larger base of support.

Every battleground state poll I have seen has him at least ahead of Trump or competitive with him. Remember that most voters are not ideological and they will put other factors at the top of their list when voting.

Bernie isn't actually running against trump, and most people haven't seen videos of him talking about Fidel Castro and the USSR. His name is very associated with the word Socialism, and that will cost him dearly in most of the country. He will do very well in NY and California, but he won't win Florida for sure, and I can't see how he could possibly win Michigan (where I live).

First you say it's early days yet, then you proceed to tell us how it's going to turn out. Yes it's early so lets calm down and keep our powder dry for the time being and let the Democratic voters have their say going forward. I want to beat Trump as bad as you do. As much as I love Bernie I will shift my support if it ever becomes apparent that he can't win. But we are far from making any determinations like that yet.

Something something Hunter nepotism...meanwhile Ivanka and Jared.

That tells me Joe’s oppo file was too thin.

Meanwhile, Republicans are encouraging Trumpers to vote for Bernie in open primaries such as South Carolina. “Operation Chaos” they call it. That says a lot too...that they’re salivating to run against Bernie because they think they can win.

Choosing is tough this year because we are cursed with a very deep bench. We may have a brokered convention as a result.

It is what it is.
