Bloomberg: "There are ways to slowly decrease the benefits or raise the eligibility age for Soc Sec.

Add co-pays to indigent Medicaid users? WTF?

I mean, gee, wouldn’t want poor people to have access.

He definitely supports low taxes on the rich and cutting government spending on social programs like most 'centrist' Democrats, but being a Trump golf-buddy billionaire and, until recently, a Republican, he wants to balance the tax cuts for the rich with benefit cuts for the poor and elderly. He strongly opposes Sanders and that's why he's running.

with the sequester is the defense cuts. The one area in the federal budget which is the most bloated is the one he wants to protect, and SS and Medicare, he wants to cut.

Yes, I'll vote for him against Trump, but come on! These are not Democratic values.

Many of us would vote for Mike over Bernie for the simple reason that we think Bernie will not win in a GE. His label as a "socialist" will follow him and I fear he will not do well with the majority of voters in the electoral states we need in order to defeat Trump. That does not mean that Mike would necessarily win those voters but it seems to me it would be a higher probability....especially with his advertising capability.

I listened to 'Brunch with Bernie' for years on the Thom Hartmann show. I have never heard him say/propose anything remotely like that. He's always advocated for expanding Social Security.

Sanders’ Social Security ‘adjustments’ undercut Biden attack

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — As a congressman in the 1990s, Bernie Sanders expressed an openness to making “adjustments” to the tax and benefit structure of Social Security. He also praised an overhaul of the social safety net program signed into law by President Ronald Reagan that reduced benefits and increased taxes on working families.
