(7,358 posts)Quit trying to demean Sanders with these false accusations. And no it won't have an impact on the Florida vote. Normalized relations with Cuba, like Obama was trying to do, would do more to impress Florida voters.

(3,764 posts)A. Sounds possibly taken out of context.
B. Everything he said was true.
He did say that Castro wasn't perfect and he was a dictator but he did get healthcare for the people of Cuba and everyone in Cuba is literate.
99.75%
According to UNESCO Cuba it has an adult literacy rate of 99.75%. Only in a few countries female literacy rates are above male literacy rates, in Cuba, 99.8% of all women aged 15 years and older are literate, compared to 99.71% of men. Compared to the rest of countries the literacy rate in Cuba is very high.

What next, are we going start running old clips of Bill O'Reilly accusing Bernie of promoting "San Francisco values" in order to besmirch him?

(1,773 posts)Bernie:
"Just because Ronald Reagan dislikes these people,
doesn't mean the people in their own nations feel the same way."
I defy you to find a single person on DU who would disagree with that statement, unless, of course, we love Ronnie Raygun now too.
Direct quote from Bernie:
"Castro and Cuba are not perfect"
Yeah, that really sounds like unfettered adulation and praise from Bernie.

(391 posts)Those bought in completely to the wonderment of a Sanders presidency just don't realize that the US is not going to elect a (democratic) socialist. Not in 2020. It will not happen.
Sanders will not soundly defeat Trump in the EC map. I wish people would see that this is all about strategy, and the Dems are playing right into the Republican's hands.
I don't even dislike Sanders, the person. But I know this is falling on deaf ears... This is so frustrating.
