Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumAbout Bloomberg, it's not just the baggage brought up so far,
remember Occupy Wall Street? Zuccotti Park?
The truly incredible encampment in Zuccotti Park?
Whose side was Bloomberg on? Did he defend Occupy, or did he enable banksters and thugs?
Something else that needs to be discussed now, not left for an October surprise.
Note to jurors - this isn't "bashing". There may be a good chance that Bloomberg will successfully buy the Democratic nomination, and these kinds of things need to be aired out and addressed before he's the candidate against MF45.

(8,379 posts)I will vote for whomever the nominee is because:
My top priority is getting Trump out of office.
At this time, my belief is that Bloomberg is the best candidate to get Trump out of office. So I will support him for that reason, and that reason only.
I am a one issue voter this election. I've never been before, I hope to never be again. But this election is different.
I don't care about Medicare for all. I don't care about free college. I don't care about occupy wall street. I don't care about anything and everything except one issue:
Get.Trump.Out.
Honestly every anti-Bloomberg thread doesn't matter, I do not care. I have zero idealism at this point in my life.

So apparently you don't "get it" unless you enjoy wasting your breath and energy.

(9,116 posts)Fighting Trump in the general and any candidate in the primary are not mutually exclusive. We can do both. Easily.
We hear this crap a dozen times a day. You're not saving breath or energy. You're encouraging complacency.

(10,429 posts)the Democratic nominee ends up being, to get rid of MF45. If he keeps his word, I'd rather see him do just that, no matter who runs against tRump.

(10,429 posts)the same kind of ads and media campaign against MF45 that he's been doing. No need to lay off the comedian and psych experts he hired to get under MF45's skin. Keep it going, and let Sanders run his own campaign

(36,023 posts)what he's selling.
This is more a sellout than a buyout. We in the party should not be so weak, nor should American voters.
Look at ANY candidate's past record to guide voting -- not party leaders, not corporate hyped messaging to pander to hopes.
What else do you think needs discussing? His electability now stands on his money more than his pandering messaging, neither of which will promise under oath to preserve and protect the Republic we had before corporate America tried to end run adherence to constitutional law by winning unjust laws using immoral arguments made to SCOTUS. Citizens United being the most unjust law of all.
Citizens United guarantees a corporation nation and will never guarantee a Republic.
Only we voters can see through that and make sure it doesn't prevail in this election.
We can win without Citizens United. Yes We Can.

how did he, as mayor, handle problems affecting these vulnerable groups?
And we have not vetted his foreign policy and relations stances. I think we tend to neglect this crucial area in terms of all our Dem candidates as it may seem remote. It has been said, and I can not cite a study, that only about 5 percent of Dems rank FP as high on their list of issues they are most concerned about.
I suggest we must care more. Our president can broker peace, or precipitate war. Our president will bring some view of the world order to bear on her decisions.
I think the next debate Bloomberg will be pressed to account for past actions and thinking, but also have a chance to clarify current views, revisions in thinking. Hoping more is revealed on what his approach to the Mideast will be. I hope for a president who might bring Iran back into an anti-nuclear proliferation agreement. For starters.
