The Nevada caucuses

By definition a caucus demands voters to be at a specific place at a specific time (and thus disenfranchises the ones who cannot).

But we see long lines of Nevadans voting early. So it this like a semi primary? I think that Iowa wanted to have something like that and NH said uh uh..

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Here in NV, today's the last day to caucus early. You choose 3-5 candidates in order of preference. malchickiwick Feb 2020 #2

Those results get sent to the appropriate precinct to be counted on Saturday as if those folks were present. Not a primary, because if one's candidate is not "viable" one can throw support behind another.

Myself, I will be caucusing in person on Saturday

I did it before and couldn’t stand the waiting.

Very happy they instituted early voting.

I think if five are ranked tabulating them would be a nightmare. But, one hope, they know what they are doing..

one labeled 1 the other 2... or something.

Perhaps not strictly ranking but they did have first and second choices?

Too confusing.

and if someone wants to piss and moan about standing in line waiting to cast a ballot, well, long around the World, there are folks whom stood in lines for more than a day for that chance to cast a ballot.

It is our duty to select our type of representation we deserve. And Boy did we get something else four years ago because people stayed home or were compromised by some Social Media App.

So,it took us a bit over one hour to cast our vote on Friday. Four years ago,It took about three hours at the Junior High Precinct Caucus and some of us who volunteered with the final Reports as well as making sure the tallies were correct we put in a seven hour plus day. And we enjoyed doing it because we cherish our Democracy. And yes,Saturday I will be at the Junior High helping with the set up.

we go mid day, barely three people ahead of us..

Lived in Florida in 1992. The primary location was at a school, I think. But general elections was at a retiree mobile home park, or something. Yes, stood for an hour in line and the "roads," really trails, were so blocked with people and cars that I was hoping that there would not be a call for an emergency vehicle.

Oh, and the actual polling house had both the Stars and Stripes and the Canadian Maple Leaf proudly waving in the light breeze.

This was a place that attracted many Canadian snow birds..

So thank you for doing what is needed, and then some

Remember well the Caucus Saturday's and then the Primary was adopted. And the usual argument about being so darn late in the year. Shortening the Campaign season to the extent that in my opinion hurt our Candidates getting their message out. Especially in Rural Minny.

primary today, I would vote for:
